Default Funambol /syncML for Blackberry..

"Until now. The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) has created a global standard protocol for sending and receiving email messages with “push” notification, plus synchronizing calendars, contact lists, and other PIM information. Most mobile phones support this standard for PIM today, and new phones are starting to support push email. "

I'm not sure what benefits this would bring to Blackberry, except perhaps as a tool to usurp it. Anyone have experience with this project? they have a blackberry client available for download..

I got it to work yesterday. Search for funambol and you'll see me post about it.

Camarones cannot find your post...
did you get push email working as well?
I installed funambol today but didn't get it working yet, hope it is worth the effort.
Do you have a tutorial on how to get it working with bb?
Thanks

Hello,

I want to sync my IMAP email account with my BB using the Funambol email connector, but I have no success by the moment. I really wish to know if someone was able to get it.

With the Funambol Email connector 3.0.15 I only was able to syn some mail from inbox or drafts folder, but not all the mails and not allways.

I installed Funambol 6 beta too, but I could'nt sync the mail. Did this really work to somebody??????

Fátima - take a look here for an alternate solution in progress for IMAP:

LogicMail for BlackBerry

I've personally not had a lot of luck with Funambol, as it's not compatible with Mobical.net; the Nexthaus SyncML client works like a champ, though.

Thanks very much rivviepop!!!

I installed LogicMail in the blackberry simulator and I was able to see my mail in the device. But I have a problem. It only works with a MDS proxy, doesn't it??

When I installed LogicMail client on a real device, it showed me an "I/O Error"
I need a BES or a BIS or somethis like this???

I'd guess that maybe you don't have the APN of your carrier set up under Options -> Advanced -> TCP? I use T-Mobile BIS, and it works just fine...

Red face Funambol /syncML for Blackberry..

Thanks another time, rivviepop. It worked.

But I still have a problem. With logicmail I have to connect to my mail server to see my mail. I prefer an application that let me download the messages to the device. I need to be able to reply/fordward the messages too.

If someone know about some application with those features then answer me, please.

Thanks very much,

Fátima Rodríguez Calvo
