Kind of a waste of money, if all this does is add google talk support. Why pay, when you can do that for free now? officially i might add

Because Verichat also supports four other IM clients as well.

Adding Google Talk would make five, all nicely bundled in a slick application that actually works.

Not to knock VeriChat (I have a paid version) but Ixxx8217;m quite happy with the xxx8220;Official Google Talkxxx8221; it does what it does and Ixxx8217;m ok with it. Besides, I donxxx8217;t need a heavy IM client.

Did I mention itxxx8217;s free?

Verichat works!!!, thats why you pay. Plus verichat is a Unified IM client, Infobots, and multiple accounts with the same service.

Does not work for me. On my 7130e i get disconnected at very random times, anywhere from a minute to 10 minutes. Very anoying. Besides, I would rather use an official client.

What do you mean by official client?

Last I checked AOL hadn't released an AIM client for the Blackberry platform.

I just want a simple Yahoo IM client. Something other than the TMO one... But it works okay for now and that's what I use...

Just can't justify the expense for the others since they only add a few bells/whistles and I don't have any buddies on any other networks.

But Verichat seems to be the only app. that actually alerts you when a new IM comes in so I use it.

Who mentioned aim??? This thread is about google talk last I checked....And they have an official client by RIM.

You seem to be missing the point here. While it's true there is an official RIM release of Google Talk it doesn't include the four other IM clients which Verichat does also support. That's the true beauty of Verichat. It's an all inclusive IM client which allows you to interface with five IM clients via one application (one of which is now Google Talk.)

Did anyone else get kicked off this afternoon with a "This version of Verichat has expired" message? I've got a mail into support asking if there's a new beta version available.

The current released version is 2.66b which doesn't have google talk. I asked them about if there will be a released version of 2.67 with google talk but haven't heard back.

I tried it on my 8700c. Either got "connection timed out" or "connection refused" every time.

I reverted back to 2.66b

Awesome. Can't wait to try it with Google Talk - I'm loving it already.

The 2.67b release just posted works fine for me.

The beta expired again and the new version posted (2.68) doesn't work for google talk. It shows the account but won't log on to it.

verichat.jab can't be installed on the BB Pearl. Desktop mgr won't recognize it.
