| Completely Free Bible (including reader) for 4.x? Freeware, not shareware/trialware. Please Login to Remove! Anyone know of a completely free Bible (preferrably KJV) for Blackberry 4.x?
I know there are beiks and olive tree, but beiks' Noah 2.0 reader/viewer for 4.x is a 10 day shareware and olive tree charges for the public domain KJV.
I've also searched for a wap Bible and the wap sites I've tried (mobible, resurrected, ...) seem to be daily reading only without the ability to choose a book and chapter. | | Offline

| You want Bieks, I believe it was Dawg that noticed the Olivetree bible is not complete.

| Are all versions of olivetree incompete? I am a fan of ESV, and beiks doesn't have it (as far as I can tell). Olivetree's has a much larger selection.
I don't mind paying, if I can get good navigation and search features.

| I have the free KJV version from Handango and its nice but no search ability at all. You can select by book and chapter and next chapter and previous chapter but thats it.
It also takes up 5 megs of space, so its a lot for only a single program.
Not bad for free though. I dont mind the lack of search as I have a PC when I want to do research. When I am out, I usually hear a reference to a verse or something and I use this so I can look it up and see the complete text.

| You SHOULD be able to get a free searchable KJV by doing the following:
1. Go to Mobipocket (link) with your 8100's browser and download Mobipocket, a free e-book reader. Be sure to choose the Pearl version.
Then
2. Go to New Etext of Bible - Project Gutenberg (link) from your PC (as this site is ALWAYS slower than molasses) and download the free Plucker version of the KJV bible.
Finally
3. Put the Plucker bible on your SD card, open Mobipocket, browse to the bible file, and voila!
Disclaimer: I have not downloaded a bible myself, but theoretically, this should work. | | Offline

Project Gutenberg is a non-profit organization full of volunteers that take non-copyrighted works and out-of-copyright works, type them up, proofread them, and then make them available for free online to people all over the world. In addition to books there are also essays and a ton of other various documents, in many different languages.
You can get Shakespeare, Voltaire, Edgar Allen Poe, Jane Austen, Arthur Conan Doyle, Benjamin Franklin, etc. there. You won't find any John Grisham novels, but almost everything you can think of that was written before 1920 (and many things written after) can be downloaded for free at this site.
You should check it out. | | Offline

Absolutely free, searchable, no download. I use it frequently. You can't make notes or things like that, but this is an excellent resource!

| Boopsie - bible quotes We released a new search engine that finds bible quotes with just a few keystrokes. Go to boopsie.com/dl and get the BoopsieRIM.jad file. You can search all kinds of things - including bible quotes.
So, if you want to find 'He who hath pity on the poor lendeth unto the lord - Proverbs', all you have to do is choose the 'Bible Quotes' channel, then enter 'he pit' - it will show right up - that beats typing the whole thing.
We would love your feedback.

Greg | Greg this works well for searching for a specific passage.
1. Once you find the passage, is it possible to view the entire chapter for clicking on the verse? I couldn't figure that out, i hit select and nothing happened.
2. Is it possible to add additional translations to this search engine? Many of the copyrighted companies editions allow for free use of their translations when distributed freely. E-sword has tons of them listed here (the ones without a $ sign) e-Sword - the Sword of the LORD with an electronic edge | | Offline

| Just to clarify on a few posts from the above: BEIKS' Noah Bible Viewer is up to version 3.0 now (with new release scheduled for later this year) and offers a VERY fast search.
All public domain Bibles will be free for Noah as long as we maintain ownership of the application.
Since developing the application itself does cost time and money, though, we will keep charging for the application itself. | | Offline
