Default Important BBReply Suggestion

Please Login to Remove!

First off, I apologize if this has been brought up; I tried searching but found no posts about this. BBReply is a great program but I have a suggestion which I think would be useful for everyone here.

I have 4 different accounts that I want to setup and I want the return name to be the same for all of the accounts. The way BBReply is setup now this works, but when I go to select a reply address to use there is no way to distinguish between accounts.

There are two ways to fix this that would both work good. On the list where you can select which address to use have it show the email address rather than the display name, or both. The other option would be to add a third field called "Display Name", so when you add a new address you would fill in "Name", "Display Name", "Email Address".

Is this something someone here can do, it sounds like a simple upgrade that will make this great little application a lot better.

BBReply is open source so someone would have to own it. It really will become unecessary as soon as the other carriers ugrade their BIS. Rumor for Cingular is as early as March.

Wirelessly posted (Why Am I Mr. Pink?: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; Sprint:PPC-6700; PPC; 240x320))

Typically what I did was instead of putting a name there I just put the email address again. this solved a lot of my issues with it.

Thank you, I use Telus so I'm not sure how long that will take them to do.

Great suggestion, I never even thought of that. I was also thinking of making the name something like "My Name (W)" for work, or "My Name (P)" for personal. I wasn't sure if I wanted it to appear that way.

I made the change you suggested by adding a third field (though I called it nickname and if you choose to leave it blank, it uses "email : name" instead). I'm trying a few other minor changes, too, so it's not quite ready. I'll try to get a version posted before the weekend is over.
