Local.Live.Com

This is a real cool application - - - potentially up there if not better than Google Maps. http://local.live.com

It gives you a bird eye's view (satellite image) of an address (if available), in addition to the aerial view. The quality of the image is outstanding!

I tried to access this site from my 8700c, but am getting invalid address message when entering any address... :(

ocal.live.com I believe uses something similiar to Shockwave. It's rather nice in some ways, but there is no satellite imagery of Canada's capital (where I live) and the imagery for many locations are better via Google. Although I am sure the vice versa is true at local.live.com ....

I think you need a custom application (ala Google Local Mobile) in order for it to work. Google Maps is available for BlackBerry at www.google.com/glm as well as clones at other sites such as www.freek.ca ...

Hopefully a "mobile" version will be coming out in the near future. Already using Google Local Mobile which I very much llike, though a new perspective with more detailed images is always sought after with the rapidly evolving technology these days.

If you are referring to Google Local Mobile - - yes.

Which phones does Google Local for mobile support?
Local for mobile works with most Java-enabled (J2ME) mobile phones offered by Cingular and Sprint, and all color BlackBerry devices regardless of carrier.

GOOGLE LOCAL MOBILE

Dido -- not on my 7520 Nextel either no matter how hard I strived. Somehow it is dependent on the system you are on (BES)

GOOGLE LOCAL

If you look at the google local site - http://www.google.com/glm/getstarted.html? you'll see it says "Google Local for mobile doesn't currently work with Nextel, T-Mobile or BREW-enabled phones (e.g. Verizon, Alltel, U.S. Cellular), or Palm devices. "

Asianmaze..... Look at it again...

You did not read the entire answer to the question.

The next paragragh is what you read only - - and it refers to NON BLACKBERRY phones...

At this time, Local for mobile doesn't work with Nextel, T-Mobile or BREW-enabled phones (e.g. Verizon, Alltel, U.S. Cellular), or Palm devices. To see whether the application will work on your phone, simply visit http://www.google.com/glm/getstarted.html and answer a few questions about your mobile phone.

It is working like a charm on my 8700c using Tmobile.

I'm guessing, since it doesn't work for me - and others here - that it's to do with BIS/BES
