Default Day Journal/Diary/Journal program?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm looking for a program similar to Palm's DayNotez (http://www.natara.com/DayNotez/index.cfm). I know the memo and Rexwireless's IdeaMatrix are suitable programs and can serve the function, but it'd be great to have a program similar to DayNotez where I can quickly jot down my random thoughts at all hours. I usually have my best thoughts/ideas/plans in the late evening, and I currently use my Sidekick to quickly jot my notes down while laying in bed, but it's not very useful for daily journaling. It'd be nice to have a program that automatically stamps the time, offers categories, and password protected features. I've tried to search for one and unfortunately I don't think it exists. Are any developers here planning a project similar to this?

(I hope this belongs in the right forum... mods, move if needed).

Thanks all.

I am also looking for a DayNotez equivalent for the BB. Am surprised that there is not yet something out for the BB.

Itís very basic (no timestamp or categories) but it has password protection.

This looks good but the product info on Handango suggests that it is not intended for the 8700.
Has anyone tried Secret Dairy on the 8700? Or is anyone aware of any other diary/journal solutions for the 8700?

Default Journaling App? (similar to Daynotez on the Palm?)

I know I'm resurrecting an ancient thread, but I've been desperate to find an app that works like Daynotez on the Palm. I just made the switch over from a Treo this week. So far I'm loving the stability and reliability of the BB over the Treo, but losing Daynotez and its companion desktop app is a pretty big blow to me. I used it to record almost everything - case notes, random thoughts, my miles run.. everything.

I'm currently using IdeaMatrix, which is very similar on the BB, but doesn't have a desktop app. The web-based version feels like it's pretty lacking so far. I sent a suggestion to the guys at Rex Wireless that maybe they should overhaul the web-interface with some AJAX UI improvements to make the desktop experience better. They got back to me right away, but indicated that while they recognize the web interface is behind the curve compared to many cutting edge web-apps, their focus for the time being will be on the BB side of things.

Anyway, I'd pay a pretty penny for a good journaling app that will automatically time and date stamp entries, searches well, makes creating a new entry as simple and quick as possible, and has a robust desktop interface that matches the BB in function (and preferably has shortcut keys). The desktop interface could be client side or web-based... I'm not too picky about that. IdeaMatrix is so close, it's just lacking on the desktop side of things.

Any ideas that haven't already been posted?

I use the Outlook Journal religiously and have always wondered why that won't sync from the BES to the BB.

The desktop has improved recenttly and for me is quite usable. I am told by Rexwireless that I am the user with the biggest database in IMX and while the web based app was sluggish first is fine for me now.
I use IdeaMatrix for journaling and also come from palm and DayNotes.

Meanwhile I prefer IMX by far.
The new (j)ump feature to put a new note into the right folder works like a charm, it uses BBs shortcuts and thus ldt gives me date - time stamp and all my other typosavers in Shortcuts work too.
