QuickNote-Finding the Clip Board -
05-22-2006, 05:00 PM
Where do I find the clip board to view my notes?
Forgive me, I am new at this.
Thanks to all!

One hotkey access ("Q" key) to immediately jotting down notes that is automatically copied to the clipboard. Requires BlackBerryOS 3.6 or later. Free utility written by Mark Rejhon. To enable hotkeys, turn off "Dial From Home Screen" setting in Phone->Options (hotkey does not work on 71XX).

You can reset your firewall. Go into Options / Security Options / Firewall. Click the wheel and click Reset Settings. This will make the program ask you again to allow the connection (will do it for other apps you have installed, too).

Does anyone know if RIM is planning on introducing an application that would allow for voice recordings? I find it cumbersome now with the Blackberry that I cannot quickly leave myself a voice note...I sure hope RIM looks at this glaring omission in a device initially built for the business community.

Hello,
my favorite Software on my 7290 is a GPS tool called "Spot". It's a commercial one, I know, but who cares. If Software is good I am willed to pay for
So anyone who's interested: Spot
P.S.: It runs on all current BlackBerry models, not just my old & crappy 7290

A work around I use is called voicenotes for Backpack. It requires a Backpack account. Once set up, you can call a toll free number and leave yourself voice notes which are placed on a single page inside your Backpack. You can also leave yourself voice notes via Skype or via a local number depending on your location. UK is also supported. It works great.
When in doubt, empty the magazine...

A completely different question: Is there any way to wirelessly send an Outlook calendar item to an 8700 and then have the 8700 recognize it as a calendar item and then convert it to a calendar item? My computer is behind a firewall so I all I can do is send a message to the 8700; I can not change the Outlook options since I do not have administrator privelediges on my work computer. Perhaps there is a software app that can be installed that will help in this process?

Thanks for providing the informaiton. I downloaded several of the BB software programs. They all work except BBWeather and BBToday. BBWeather has the error message "Could not find a service book entry for IPPP." I checked the service book list under advance options and IPPP was checked, so I assumed that the 8700g has the IPPP. Six of the 8 plugins for BBToday work fine, but the weather and stock plugins both show "could not open tunnel - failed". What does that mean?

BBCalls - Free program for free calls -
09-15-2006, 10:27 AM
The MUST HAVE program for your BlackBerry:
BBCalls
You will love it.
It just initates the call over the internet. The actual call works on the normal GSM/IDEN/CDMA network. So BBCalls runs on all current BlackBerrys in all countries. You can for example make a FREE CALL from your BlackBerry in the states to a mobile phone in the People's Republic of China. Isn't that great?

Got the demo to work. I think I'll try this. It's a lot more convenient than Skype (if it works).

New Trouble Intellisync'ing -8700C -
09-28-2006, 12:38 PM
a recent development; when I sync my BBRY the BBRY Desktop Manager pops up, i am prompted for my password, i enter it, the desktop manager goes beige and says that it is WORKING. From there nothing happens. No SYNC No reconciling of files.
Thoughts? Rebooting has not helped.

Had WorldMate 1.0 on older Blackberry, and later on my 8700. When I got an offer in email to upgrade to WorldMate 2.0 I jumped at the chance.
I have tried about 15 times to download, both over the air and using Desktop Manger. The application DOES show up in Status/Advanced/Applications, but I cannot get the applicaton to appear on the BlackBerry.
Did not have this problem with older version of WorldMate.
Any ideas?

Voice Dialing for 8700c and 7130c -
10-13-2006, 06:43 PM
Anyone know of any good software for voice dialing for those two phones?
By "voice dialing", I'd settle for the good old fashioned Voice Tags if that were possible, and also want to be able to just speak digits.
I was referred to this link, "http://www.mobilevoicecontrol.com/7130e_index.aspx" which looks pretty good but its an OTA service that costs monthly so I'm not sure about network delays, etc. (but am checking that out).
Any others??

RV PileUp -

Try this one. It's Free! A new game for BB based on the movie "RV" with Robin Williams. I loaded the 7100 version onto my 8100. Works great. It's a relief from BrickBreaker. Use your BB Browser and go to:

There are NOT *killer* apps, but for your downtime you might like some of the free Java games at MobileRated (dot com)
Pretty nice. You can download directly to your phone OR via your PC.
