The new OS 4.5 has voice note recording built-in to the OS.

You could probably set up something like Asterisk/TrixBox with an extension forwarding voice files via email - there are several ways to do that.
You might also look at online faxing services - many are fax/voicemail, with either type being emailed to you.
Note that none of these are going to do the transcription without a lot more work on your part.

That's strange.... Both my AT&T 8310 and my Sprint 8130 have voice recorders built into the OS right out of the box.

This app doesn't work and actually causes problems with the led on the 8100 when OS 4.5 is installed. I recommend deleting it.

Someone has to create an updated version of the program before you can use it with the newer OS versions.

Try Moodio. I got rid of my BerryTunes and xPlayer for it, and have not been disappointed yet.

For the first item on your list, try ICall Manager Light. It should do the job for you.
For the second item, depending on your BB, the newer ones should come with a voice recorder, if not, there are a number of third party ones, but I have not had a need for any of them.

Nice site ... unfortunately most of the stations I'd want to stream are in a format incompatible with the 8100.
EDIT: I take it back...either the upgrade to OS v4.5 or using m.moodio.fm (instead of Welcome to Moodio! | Moodio) did the trick...I can now receive moodio streams.

SimGuard for BlackBerry (intellibits.com/BlackBerry/SimGuard-anti-thief-alerter.aspx): this app runs in background and identifies an unauthorized SIM change, which usually follows a theft! In that case it then silently sends alerts to a configurable list of numbers (your secondary numbery, your company's or partner's number) with the thief's phone number, his SIM's IMSI, his GPS coordinates, and your device's IMEI. With all this data you can block your device, and report the theft to the police so that the can identify and locate the thief!

Remote Desktop link broken -
12-10-2008, 10:54 AM
Never mind!! I went to the Remote Desktop for Mobile website (the old news item Link is broken) and was going to download the 7-day trial - until I found the price has gone up to $49.95.
Not sure it's worth $50?!?!

How to find your lost blackberry!! -
01-27-2009, 04:36 PM
This is the coolest software. My husband & I bought it online and it works!
It's called Blackberry Locator. Even if your BB is in the standby mode, this works! You choose a keyword when you set it up. If you lose you BB AT HOME OR AWAY, you just message your BB and put the keyword in the subject line.
It will WAKE UP your BB and it's soooo cool. It makes all kinds of noise and the screen and light at the top blinks and the screen changes colors... flashing like crazy. The tone is unusual.
Now, if you have lost it out somewhere, get this: If someone picks it up and wakes it up, they get a message of whatever you put in the BODY of that message. I tried it to my husband's curve... and it worked. I sent the keyword in the subject and in the body, I wrote: REWARD of $25 for anyone returning this phone. Please call ..... and i put HIS cell number as the one to call. It's cheaper than the $50 deductible on my Sprint insurance, and I keep my personal info!
There's more! It will send you an email with the EXACT location of your phone, assuming it can read your GPS location. How cool is that? And I think the whole thing cost me a one-time fee of $5 or $6. I found it on Themes4BB.com. I'm soooooooooo loving this!
