I have it and find it useful for creating/editing with MS documents. But I've had many problems trying to save docs to thier server- says it's saving, but never comes back. Have exactly the same problem with email attachements, particularly PDF's. Their CS has been unable to help and has a bad attitude. My overall impression is I paid way too much for what I got.

Wirelessly posted (7130e VZW: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)
Yes, the price is exorbitant and the support was far less than helpful when I trialed the software a while back.

Guys, anything I can help with the software, please let me know. We have recently expanded our customer service headcount, so there might be some new people that are still getting up to speed. If there is some specific feedback I will make sure we address it.

I too have been very interested in eOffice but have not been willing to pull the trigger because of a combination of what I perceive to be a significant cost and user issues and limitations (found out mostly through our beloved forum here). I would love for my BB to have the ability to manipulate Office applications as the Treo 700w does without having to give up my push email for it (as I would if I were to move to the Treo platform, which would never happen).
Now you can call me STORMin' Norman, except my name isn't Norman.

Does anyone know when accessing the files from their servers, is it through the BES server? This is important because when I roam, data through BES is part of the unlimited plan on TMO so I won't get ding on GPRS roaming rates. thanks!

You can switch to MDS/BES in eFile - go to eFile->Start->Settings->Network. You need to select MDS: DynoPlex Server there. Make sure you have MDS enabled on your BES.

I wanted to address the issue of price raised in the previous posts. Please remember that this is a one-time license fee. So if you take $199 for eOffice Pro, that includes 1st year subscription, plus 2 more years on renewal at $49.95 each, the cost comes out as $300 for 3 years. This is the same as attachment viewing solutions on the market ($99 a year) and nobody complains about them!
eOffice gives you also document editing, spell check, ability to send e-mail with attachments, calling card support for dialing and desktop sync. Seems like a good deal to me .

eOffice -
05-02-2006, 11:08 AM
I had it loaded on my Blackberry 7520, and it does not work very well. I have trouble saving files or if a file says it was saved, the changes are not always saved, final comment, way over priced for the service received from the product. It is now removed from my Blackberry.

Does anyone know if and when eOffice going to support MS Powerpoint? I can use BB memo as a short term substitue for MS Word but there's no replacement for PPt.

the reson no one complains about paying for the attachment viewers is that they are nicely inplemented, clean, and work great. eOffice is nice in theory; however, it takes too many steps to do anything. I also do not like having all different type of file in one interface. Now, if it was broken down into word, etc and basic functionality, with a smooth and intelligent interface I may look again.
Bottom line is you put too much into one screen / application. too much stuff that is not needed, and to little to justify paying $200 up fromt for. I need the attachment viewer. I can wait to edit a word document at that price.

I have always been interested in Eoffice. I should probably do a review for it and place it in the review section.

Well, if all you need is an attachment viewer, then you certainly do not need eOffice. Editing documents is much more complex than viewing - you need to store them, access them, copy them etc. We tried to replicate the PC experience where different types of files are intermixed in folders and you can perform various actions with them - sync, edit, attach to e-mail. So I agree, it is a complex package. But the point is taken, we should look into making the interface more simple for people who want just one function out of it. But as far as price, if you only need to edit word docs, it is $59, not $200.

I would welcome the eaiser interface and may even look at it again. I feel that anything I do on the BB should be quick. If I need to edit a full document with complex functions the I need to open the laptop. But there are those who would rather do everything on the BB.
Maybe an eOffice with word, excell, etc but with basic features, then a version for those who want to do everything on the BB. Damn, now I am starting to sound like microsoft was right with the different version. Ugh!
Maybe I just need to try it again as it might have been too much at once and I did not give it its proper dues.

Absolutely. I am using eOffice now and I am really liking it. It is very effective and really brings my mobile office together. I can truly work away from the office now. I hope to have a review together soon.
