Question any way to copy Apps from one BB to another? - 04-24-2006, 06:57 PM

I do not have a data plan with my 7290 so I have been using the method described in thread:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/media-center/30693-new-ringtones-without-data-plan.html

By using a simulated BB I have been able to load ringtones and pictures to my real BB.

I want the be able to transfer OTA games from mobile.blackberry.com thru the simulator to my BB.

Is there any software for this or any ideas on how to do it?

Thanks

Gordon

Nope, as it state OTA Over the Air you need a data connection to communicate with the url to download. If your on TMo 19.99 will get you a data plan...

I dont know if this would work but what about doing a restore from someone else's backup. You can do a selective one so that you only restore exactly what you need. I am just taking a shot in the dark here.

You should be able to install on the sim, then look in the directory for the sim for the .cod file associated with the program you are installing, and use javaloader to install to your BB over USB/serial.

I searched all my system, I can't find the cod files.

They must be encrypted in the simulator data in BB JDE

i didn't think you could load applications using the desktop manager if they were originally loaded on the BB OTA. that may be why you can't find the files.

Iv found the file that they are in but its an unkown file type to myself or anything on my system, im assuming its a custom made format. The file is 7100t-fs.dmp using the 7100t simulator. But its not possible to connect to it via javaloader or anything else. As mobile.blackberry.com looks for Bb browser then its not possible to pull the url's off the browser sim and download them. The only way i can think left is to either modify a browser to pretend top be Bb browser, setup something so sit between the simulator an the net to copy the data as it passes or if someone could send the .cod files off there bb after they have coppied them off via javaloader.
