I was wondering if anyone who has purchased CryptMagic has been able to migrate the application and data to another BlackBerry device without having to purchase another copy of CryptMagic. I have looked around the forum and think that it is possible but I didn't see anything definate. Also, I tried to go to www.software-for-blackberry.com but that just goes to Handango which is just a reseller. The reason that I ask is I expect to get a new BlackBerry soon and don't want to have to spend another $35 for CryptMagic when I change over.

I recently had to migrate my CryptMagic registration to a new 7290, as my old one was stolen. I had to obtain a new registration code from the developer, as it is tied to the PIN of your BlackBerry. I mailed support and got a response within 24 hours - the address I used was:

I switched from Cingular to Verizon and got a new BB. Emailed the developer and got a new keycode right away.

Thanks, it sounds like it is not a problem and the developer is very reasonable.

I just did this about three weeks ago from 7290 to a 8700. Yes, you do need to contact the developer and provide your PIN. The app is PIN dependent.

Also, I can add that the transition went without a hitch. I actually had to perform this procedure on two different upgrades and both were easy.

I did the same upgrading from my 7100t to the 8700g. They provided the new code and my BB sync'd up with the desktop application just fine, moving all the data over to the new BB.
