sure, good thing i had your pin

do you find the connection "fast" or slower than connecting to the net using the browser icon.

g1no 05-14-2006 03:52 AM

got the "new" username from o2, not sure yet if it makes the access faster....

APN:mobile.o2.co.uk
Username for APN:faster
Password for APN:password

This new password doesn't seem to work for me. Does it for you?

g1no 05-14-2006 10:42 AM

yes, u might have to reboot after changes.

sm1th 05-14-2006 11:48 AM

OK, I got it working now. I don't know if it's any faster. It was never really slow.

Do you guys need to be on a BB plan to get GPRS for browsing, MSN etc?
Also, (stupid question really but I'm new to bb), can it receive MMS without using email?
Thanks,
Angelos

Just wanted to say thank you for these, this really helped me while I was away and needed to get my MSN working.

dparvin 11-13-2007 05:36 AM

Again, thank you, needed these again for my 8100 to get Opera Mini 4 working.

Guys, are you sure this kind of traffic isnt chargeable and excluded from your monthly plan? Im on BB unlimited with o2 and im getting the occasional charge for WAP data (probably because bbsmart viewer is set up for wap.o2.co.uk) :( dont wanna risk a huge bill.

Is google talk data included as part of blackberry data?

threewater 01-10-2008 05:09 AM

I'm very keen to know the answer to this too. Does anybody know?

I'd like to know that, too - there are some other apps whose data usage isn't obvious to me: google maps, for example, and Yahoo Go! - nobody seems to know whether these apps use bb connections or go through wap and/or http/tcp connections.

For me, the reason for asking is the opposite, though - I have an unlimited wap+http plan but only get 5mb of included traffic for bb on Swisscom Mobile.

I've noticed that you can be charged for the mobile.o2.co.uk and wap.o2.co.uk address use.

However all the blackberry.net access is billed FREE. You need to make sure you use BB Browser in Internet Browser mode. Not the O2 mode.

However..... what are the username and password details for blackberry.net on O2(UK).

I'm trying to use my data connection on my phone to get internet on my MacBook...

I have been using these settings as since I posted above in July and have never been charged once. I only every pay my fixed line rental every month.

please help... I've entered the setting in my BB8100, but i still get "Data connection refused"
is there anything else that needs to be changed??
