Default PocketDay Sports Auto Refresh

Please Login to Remove!

There was some discussion of this on another thread and I said I would post back when I figured it out. I believe that I have, subject to any disagreements/corrections...

The good news: PocketDay Sports Auto Refresh works well on both the PocketDay integrated version and also the stand-alone PocketDay Sports version.

To start it each day, you go into the program, click and select Set Auto Refresh, and scroll to select OK. Until you do this, it will not begin Auto Refreshing. After that, it will continue to Auto Refresh until you Exit from the program (click and select Exit) or until your selected "End Refresh At" time arrives.

(If you just "Hide PD with Esc key" (default General Option in PocketDay), then PocketDay continues to run in the backgraound and Auto Refresh will continue. PocketDay Sports stand-alone version always hides in the background on escape and again the Auto Refresh will continue to function. You have to click and Exit to turn it off.)

Once it's turned off, you have to go back and Set Auto Refesh as described above to turn it back on, just as you must at the beginning of each day.

Personally, I think it's a great system. You choose each day when you want to start monitoring sports (usually the evening if you're a baseball nut like me). Then Exit the program when you're done for the day. If you forget to do that, it will shut off at the selected time. Minimal data transfer wastage!

I have it set refresh evey 15 minutes, and to Vibrate on Refresh. I use the manual "Refresh Sports" function (top of the menu - a simple double-click) if something interesting is going on that I want to monitor more often.

Nice way to stay on top of games when you're out and around.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

You hit the nail on the head as that is exactly how the program works!

The developer told me that a new version is due soon that will add a 'start refresh' time as well. This will be awesome as I can then select the start and stop time each day depending on when my teams play!

Overall it is an awesome app that any sports junkie must have!
