I'd like to know what the best chat software is but I'm only interested in hearing from those who have used multiple packages and actually compared them. Please don't say "I like Verichat" if that's all you've ever used (like me).

Did not work for Itrezzo, Terrapin Energy, Rusty Bytes, IpserLabs, I'm not that CEO guy.

I don't use IM often, mostly to see if my kids are on line and chat with them (they still live at home). So maybe once a week or so.

I've tried two applications both during the trial periods, neither worked as well as I expected. I loaded Google Talk, then installed the msn transport and it works as well as the demos I've tried. It isn't by any means perfect especially for buddy lists but it does the job for my limited uses. Google "jabber msn transport", or search at www.bigblueball.com for instructions. Yes, there are other transports available.

There is a really informative sticky from Mark Rejohn about his as well as some good reviews (http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=2973) & from Stinsondogg, on his website(http://home.comcast.net/~tamsterra/index.html), I'd recommend starting there.

Asking which chat software is better is like asking which BB is better. It's a completely individual opinion. Read the reviews from the above and see what works best for you.

Good Luck
