Exclamation GOOGLE TALK PROBLEM (not USA)

Please Login to Remove!

after reading many posts and experiencing problems with google talk (specifically accounts which are [email address]) i think its time to give blackberry a wake up call.

Blackberry indicate on there website http://mobile.blackberry.com under Whats New "Google Talk for Blackberry devices, now available worldwide".

yes it is available worldwide to download but with obvious login errors if you do not have a [email address] account.

so....what to do, please send your emails to [email address] and hopefully with the number of complaints there'll be a "Europe" release or patch on the way.

Unfortunately, I think this is a UK 'thing' only. Register outside the UK and you geta gmail address. If i recall it was a legal issue that made Google change things in the UK. Still, it ought to be fixed anyway!

yes wibbly you right, it was a legal issue about a uk company that had the gmail.com registered before google. hopefully the "politics" will get sorted on paper and software.

... means you need to find a non-UK ISP.

If you have a laptop with Wifi, I *think* T-Mobile HotSpots in the UK appear to connect from Germany

i hear what you saying but connecting to google talk on the laptop i can do with my own ISP. its only the BB version of google talk that wont connect the googlemail.com accounts.

Hi G1no how are you good weekend? What are you using Google talk for? is it a ISP connection or a form of IM software?

Correct. I think it's a bug in the Google Talk BB implementation (either the software, service book, or RIM relay, I don't know which). To get the BB Google Talk client working, you need today to do it wth a gmail.com address. I set up a new one just to do this (use the GT BB client)!

hey paul....weekend was spent at work, and yes it is a IM.

thx wibbly....i'll wait and hope a fix appears on BB website.

I setup a new @gmail.com acount using a work computer that goes through a DNS server in Sweden and now Google Talks works perfectly on my 8700V on Vodafone UK

Even if he could connect, it wouldn't work, cause in Germany there is the same legal issue. Since a court decision only @googlemail.com addresses are issued.

Lightbulb Update

google talk now supports googlemail accounts.

in user name type it in as: [email address] then your password.

thx to jeff from rim uk for the update.
