Pocket Express and Cingular Help!!
Hi there...I have a BB 7100g with cingular and LOVE it so far but I have had my share of bumps. Cingular reps are close to worthless when it comes to BB support and answering my questions about data plans, internet, etc. And yes I did choose "BB support"
Anyways, my internet seems to be working fine now but I am still having trouble with Pocket Express from handmark. anytime i try and search for anything it gives me (in red letters): "can be caused by incorrect carrier preference settings" and then of course doesn't show anything that I was searching for. I put in cingular under carrier and all of the info looks correct. What's going on?
Also, when I try to update I get a "Parsing Error Occurred"
Blackberry uses a WAP Gateway. The carrier setting for Cingular should be set to:
From PageOne Menu click on "Express Preferences" then "Carrier"
If the setting for Cingular is not the same as above you can click on other and key it in.
Alternately it may be displayed as
WapGatewayIP=188.8.131.52;WapGatewayPort=9203;WapG atewayAPN=blackberry.net;Username=;Password=;WTLS= enabled
A new release of Pocket Express should be posted by March 15th
Thanks...the main problem was on cingular. No matter how many times I called them they would not add those free "internet lines" on my bill. I finally went into a store and found someone who knew what he was talking about. Now everything is working great! Though I did find some outdated 411 info, the program is worth the $7 a month. =)
