That's my experience the last week also - started happening about the time I upgraded to BIS 2.0, but I can't say for sure that's the problem - although I've made no other changes. Very strange, as you say, it comes and goes - when I get a DNS error, I've just started laying it down and ignoring it, and half an hour or an hour later, its working again - for a while. Glad to know I'm not the only one seeing it, at least. Would be interesting to hear from others - is this isolated to Cingular, and only to BIS 2.0, or not?

My only issue has been the TCP\APN settings. I put them in, save, and then re-start. All good for a while, but seems like every week or so, they disappear and I have to input them again. Wish once they were set, they would just stay.
