Default New application - Scratchpad - Clipboard enhancer (Feedback wanted!) - 06-22-2006, 03:35 PM

Hi there everybody!

I have another app that I've been working on besides BerryBlocker.

It's called Scratchpad...

Scratchpad aims to improve the functionality of the standard Blackberry Clipboard application. Scratchpad can automatically copy items from the Blackberry Clipboard and place them into the Scratchpad. Copy up to 20 items and keep them in your Scratchpad. Scratchpad integrates into most application menus allowing quick access to retrieve saved items.

Features

* Automatically copy from the Blackberry Clipboard into the Scratchpad. (this can be turned off)
* "Open Scratchpad" menu item appears in most applications, allowing quick access
* Manual entry of items into the Scratchpad
* Delete individual Scratchpad items
* Easily copy items from the Scratchpad into the Blackberry Clipboard allowing you to paste anywhere
* Intuitive ordering of Scratchpad items (most recently entered or recently used Scratchpad items are moved to the top, while unused items eventually drop down and fall off the list)
* Each item stored in Scratchpad shows a preview of the first part of the text, and each item preview only takes up one line. This allows you to very quickly find and use items in the list.
* Clear the Blackberry clipboard
* Clear all items in the Scratchpad (with confirmation dialog)
* Automatic worry free saving of items in the Scratchpad
* Scratchpad allows you to copy and save very large items

You can download a trial version here...

I would love to have feedback, comments, suggestions on the application from anyone who wants to give it a try.

I've been using it for a day or so and thinks it's great. Solves one of the key shortcomings of the clipboard since you can now manipulate several items at once (rather than the one you were limited to with the clipboard)

Default Possible improvement - 06-22-2006, 03:44 PM

While I'm not sure if this is doable, if you could insert into a document direct from the scratchpad that would save several keystrokes and make this even more efficient

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll see about doing that, though I won't say for certain whether I can make it happen or not, it seems like it would make it even faster to use.

This application looks very useful to me. I am frequently copying and pasting info, and sometimes have to copy and paste in three or four steps to get everything copied.

Has anyone experienced any problems (such as incompatability with other add-ons) with this program?

While having multiple entries in Scratchpad, being able to select all entries and the option to select one by one to the Clipboard would be an improvement.

Is there a max limit as to how many entries can be added to the Scratchpad?

Right now the limit is set to 20 entries, any advice on this? Would you like it higher than 20?

No, I think 20 entries are fine.

Is there an OTA version for us Mac users with no application loading software support?

Thanks,

Richard

Yes the link is current but there’s no OTA link for installing.
