Default eReader on BB - 06-25-2006, 12:53 PM

I have tried and tried without success to get an ereader (w/desktop, if possible) for my 8700g. I can't get mobipocket to work, and have tried their forum for help, all w/out luck.

Does anyone here know of an ereader that works w/my BB? I understand mobipocket works w/other BBs just fine.

Or maybe there is another reader out there?

thanks, LizL

Hmm. I have no problems with Mobipocket on my 7520. Is this an 8700 issue?

Works fine on my 8700c.. and surprised that battery charge doesn't diminish noticeably when using it (treo would barely last through an entire book)...

I tried it and it does not work on my 8700G.. I dont think RIM or provider can do anything about it. It is all about supporting the MIME types.

Administrators my deactivate the possibilty to install 3rd party software on your BlackBerry. So this might be worth a question to them.

Meanwhile you can check: BlackBerry EBooks - Special Offer until 2006-07-31

Default How much??? - 07-27-2006, 09:42 AM

How much does eReader run? Is it like Open Office or something? I searched for it through Google, but can't find a clear description of it.

An eReader allows you to download eBooks and read them on your mobile device. For example you can purchase the Da Vinci Code online and read it on your Blackberry. All of which is theoretical for me as I could not get Mobipocket to install properly on my home computer and transfer books to my Blackberry. The problem I believe is that my home computer is from the Paleolithic age and runs Windows ME. It isn't a BES issue; I'm on BIS only.
