Default Address Book editing Add on ?? - 06-26-2006, 06:07 PM

I had a search but did not find anything unless I missed it. Is there a 3rd party software that enables us to open and edit our Blackberry address book. I have a Blackberry 7290 unit and it is just way too long to always use the device to edit and use the address book

Thanks in advance

I might be stating the obvious, but MS Outlook and your BB Address Book will sync up nicely with each other.

Yes but the only problem I found there was if you have many PST files on your PC the BB software seems to see them all and pulls in even old addresses I do not want. I also have not been that great at keeping my outlook that updated. I just thought it would be easier if they had a 3rd party software like say Mobile Tools from Motorola does that you could open the address book edit it etc and upload it again.

Thanks

Sycronization with Outlook is an ongoing process. If you set it all up properly, any change you make on either the handheld or on your desktop outlook will be syncronized whenever you connect your BB to your computer and run Intellisync from the "Desktop Manager". This applies to the address book, calendar, tasks, and memopad applications. The field mapping is perfect by default, but overall, it works pretty well IMO.

You can also configure which PST files it syncs to. If you have older ones & need contacts from them, you can open the PST along with the current configured PST and copy/move any contacts to it.
