Overhere in Europe we have service called Teletext on our TV sets. The BBC calls this service CeeFax. TV Stations send out all sorts of information through a TV signal subchannel (ie. news, weather, traffic etc. etc.). In Holland alone (16 million people) on an average day more than 2.1 million teletext infopages are requested through this channel.
Last week e-office together with the NOS (Dutch Public Boradcasting company) launched a BlackBerry application that has the same look and feel as Teletext on the TV sets at home. For now the content delivered through this application is only relevant for people living in The Netherlands or Dutch expats who like to stay informed. However, we are now in the process of readying this technology for other (international) Broadcasting companies.
