Default CryptMagic BB Issue

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, so I think I'm losing my mind now...

I did a quick search, but didn't see anyone else having the same issue, so I'm starting a new thread to figure this out, because I'm stumped.

I recently purchased CryptMagic + Desktop, after having the trial version of only CryptMagic. Since installing CryptMagic Desktop on my PC, registering CryptMagic on my BB, and syncing, I think I've lost the ability to create a new item from within CryptMagic on my BB.

Anyone else have this issue? Is it a "feature" that you can only enter data from the desktop, or am I just a little daft this morning?

Now that you said it, I have the same problem but never noticed it until now. I thought I could add new items from the BB before but now I can't. So you have not lost your mind.

Are you wheel clicking inside the list grouping? Example, you have an list item selected, not group/folder, when you wheel click.

Ah, no I wasn't...I was clicking a Category or Template. Clicking on an individual item allows me to choose New. So I suppose I was being a little daft today, though that's a pretty counter-intuitive design. So I have to expand a Category, then a Template just to enter a new item. Oh well, at least I can enter stuff on my handheld

Thanks for pointing out the obvious!

Glad you found the answer, though I have to say I played with Cryptmagic and Ascendo Datavault, and went with Datavault for the exact reason you express here. I found Datavault to be very intuitive and easy for data input. I also found it was easy to modify Datavault's permission settings to make all my data much less vulnerable to the online state of the Blackberry. (I suspect this can be done on Cryptmagic as well though I did not try it.)

..it is sorta funny, same thing happened to me. I wish they would change the design, it just doesn't make sense.

Cheers

I agree that CryptMagic is not as intuitive as it could be. There are many areas where you have to be in a specific area to get the menu you want. Also the opening of a catagory then a template to see your cards is not as good as some of the Pocket PC based programs like e-wallet. You should be able to see all cards immediately when you open a catagory no matter what template was used on the card. Having to remember which catagory and which template was used to find each card is a pain.

My comment on remembering which category and then which template to find a card referred to the Desktop Application. At least on the BB there is a "all templates" selection that allows seeing all the cards right after selecting a category.
