Default Yak-On Privacy Settings with AIM? - 07-09-2006, 02:05 AM

I've been looking for a good AIM program for my 8700g. I had a sidekick before this and I'm trying to find something close to that. I've been using Ramble over the past 2-3 months, but it just seems to log me off all the time.

I tried verichat's trail offer, and that was ok..just not thrilled w/it enough to want to pay annually.

Well I installed Yak-On, and it looks good but the 1 glaring thing I noticed was that it did NOT import my privacy settings for AIM like Ramble and Verichat did. In fact, I have to go on my computer and change it BACK to what I had it prior after logging on w/Yak On.

My question...is there a way to import privacy settings(mine is that I only allow people on my buddy list to chat w/me) as opposed to having Yak On change it to allow all users besides those specifically blocked?

I am interested in the feedback too, I need a good AIM client too.

Cheers

Funny thing is, that ever since I started using Yak-On, I CANNOT change my privacy settings on my computer anymore, it's all greyed out. Now people that are not on my buddy list are contacting me both on Yak-On and my computer, very annoying.

I don't like the fact that Yak On changes your privacy settings either. It annoys me too. If this is something that's native to Yak On, i'm deleting the program and going back to Ramble i guess...

I installed Google talk and access AIM through that now. So far, so good. Forget paying for Yak on and having it screw with my settings when GT works good for free.
