Default Y! messenger - 07-18-2006, 06:00 PM

Hello everybody,

I been trying to get to work Y!messenger on BB 8700C. Now I know that on the download page its says that Cingular customers will be able to install it but won't be able to log on, however I was wondering if anybody out there has found a way around this. Reason is that I have 70% of my friends and buisness contacts on Y! messenger and would help me a great deal if I could access it on the BB> Any info would be greatly appreciated. THNX

no way to do it, people have tried just about everything to get it to work. Cingular does not give us the service book we need to run the yahoo messenger client.

If you don't mind paying a one time fee(i think $40) their IM+ software works great. I've downloaded and used it for the trial version period. It includes yahoo, msn, aol etc.....with one interface.

There are some people here at the office that was able to get it to work. They didn't do anythig special. For some reason it worked for them. Could it be a configuration problem?

Talking Yahoo on cingular - 06-21-2007, 07:41 PM

It is possible to get yahoo messenger on the cingular network. Some users at my company have successfully done it. I myself did it once but was informed that cingular would terminate my service for violation of Terms of Use. SO it is possible just not recommended. A google search will reveal the method or contact me and I will provide the info on where to find it.

Dear graystrickland, thank you for your feedback. We will take it into consideration while working on IM+ in future!

For now please note that SHAPE Services has announced a new IM+ release version 5.2!

We improved IM+ with:

* Multiaccount support,
* Baterry life extended due to contact list and dialog formation optimization,

* Auto response message added in auto-away,
* Shortcut for Mute Sounds added,
* Enable/Disable missed events,
* Time for Online/New messages’ notifications extended,
* Some bug fixes.

Please follow the thread http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...tml#post786512

Best regards,
Irene Collins

IM+ new version is great except the Yahoo messenger is getting disconnected a lot, while the other services remain online. Previous version didn't do that.

Would you please send us a log from IM+ selecting "Support" / "Send request"?
We will investigate this situation.
