Lightbulb Berry411 now remembers your favorite numbers and directions - 07-26-2006, 01:58 AM

Version 3.30 of the Berry411 mobile search tool is now available from the Berry411 download page: Bogle’s Blog » Berry 411 Downloads

The new version remembers the name and phone number of any business you call or add to your phone book using Berry411. The next time you search for the business, you can call the business directly from the search history without having to hit the web at all, or go directly to the driving directions and details page for that business without having to scroll through other results.

This means that getting information for your favorite businesses is even faster.

Just updated to v3.30 and it's fabulous, Berry411 is by FAR the most useful application there is. However, does it bother anyone else now that we can't dial numbers by scrolling to the phone # and pressing the DIAL button? When I push dial, now it just takes me to the call log. I have to push the ESC (back) button to place a call. I was playing around with it today and I kept accidentally calling people when I just wanted to go back a page. I don't want to sound rude because I really do love this application, but I was just wondering if this is something that is going to be fixed in a future update?

I always dial the numbers by clicking the jog wheel, which my thumb is resting on anyway, this seems faster than click the call button.

I don't think there's any way to both allow the call button to be used and allow the call memory to work.

Perhaps I could make it a preference setting whether or not to use the call memory feature, and then the call button could work as you expect it to.

Looks like the .zip file in your 3.30 directory is not for 3.30 -- When I went to install it via Desktop Manager, it reported a "downgrade". The individual files work, though. Thanks for this great application!!

I like using the keypad shortcuts if at all possible instead of the clickwheel. I just realized that I can click the Enter button instead of the Call button to make a call so it's all good. Making it a preference would be great though. Thanks Phil!
