Arrow A Better Task Application??? - 08-03-2006, 02:18 PM

I have searched around, but have yet to find a 3rd party Task Application that can do what I'm looking for.

I want to be able to go to any name in my address book (in my case that is 2000 contacts), click on their name and then select a "To-do" to call them, and then have it end up in my Task List. Many of my tasks for the day or week are to call people that are already in my address book and this would be a great adavantage to have the programs linked in this way. Any thoughts?

PocketDay support here...we've been contemplating something similar. Unfortunately, right now, developers don't have access to the Alarm field on Tasks, but with PocketDay Lists we have complete control.

We're thinking of this...New Menu item for contacts that let's you add an entry to a PD List List. The screen would let you set the subject, Alarm date/time, etc.

Thoughts?

Sounds good, but is there any way that once that entry exists on the list to link back to the contact that created it? In other words, you go to "John Doe" in your address book, click the wheel, create an entry in PD Lists. Later on when you want to complete that item, you click on the item and it pulls up "John Doe" contact file so you can dial, sms, email, etc.

Default REXwireless will offer similiar functionality too - 08-03-2006, 09:29 PM

todoMatrix will offer this kind of functionality in the near future. We already had something very similiar in the queue from customer suggestions. Only time will tell as to specific design elements and limitations regarding what can be done.

Thanks for the input.

Or a new menu item for a list with the option to attach a contact to an entry. Either way, allow for the management of attached contacts by opening an item to change the attached contact.

I'm not familiar with that program. Is there a way to download it OTA?

I don't know if anyone has taken a look at it yet but Ascendo has released iJuggle. Another task manager for the Blackberry. I might download it and take a look at it in the next week or so.

You can find it over on the Handago website.

I think iJuggle looks really interesting, and as an aside, I have to say I went through all the data protection programs and their "Datavault" was one of the best designed apps out there...very clean interface. My only issue will be if the program (iJuggle) will somehow be connected to the BB's Task app so that syncing can occur and show up on my desktop. (In my case, that's Entourage 2004 on a Mac).
