Default IM+ question - 08-26-2006, 04:35 PM

Sorry for the cross-post. I posted this in the General section by mistake.

I have installed IM+ on my T-Mobile 8700G and I call see all of my contacts for each IM service. I can communicate with any of them who are online via their PC. However, anyone who is loggined in to IM (either Yahoo, MSN, AOL or ICQ) on their Blackberry show up as offline and messages to them are undeliverable.

Any clues?

Thx,
Les

Thanks. I saw this same behavior when trying to communicate from my Cincular cellphone via Yahoo IM to a Blackberry user. I have purchased IM+, so the alternatives you suggest are not an option at this time. I have sent messages to Shape Services and T-Mobile. I'll see what I get back.

Can't say whether or not I've actually seen this behavior, but just as an FYI, the current version is 4.1. Get it here: SHAPE Services - Try&Buy

No OTA as far as I know.

Thanks for the info.
However, the download page says it's version 4.04. The link is to the file IM_2_BES.jad. Don't know if it's been updated.
Worth knowing though.

That's just the name of the JAD. No matter the release you have, they are all titlted IM_2_BES.jad. I suspect that's computer-speak for Instant Messaging to BES.
