Question Did u get Webmessenger's Message Alerts to work?

Please Login to Remove!

I downloaded and installed the trial of Webmessenger's Message Alert progrm on my Pearl. I rebooted after install (battery out-in). No matter what I do, it won't execute any of the custom alerts I set. It goes with the regular profile.

I have read on here that it will go with the regular BB profile first. I tried muting the profile, setting it to none... it just ends up doing nothing when I get an email or SMS. It's as if the Message Alert program isn't there.

I set up the filters for "ANY MESSAGE".

Anyone know what I might be missing?

Thanks!

I also got fed up with this program after the first trial day. Some procedures are so un-intuitive, and the documentation was written just for others in their office to understand. I deleted it from my phone. Then, later I thought I would give it another chance. Their tech support people answer mail really fast. Now I'm very happy with Message Alerts.

They have gone back and forth with me a few times but they don't seem to know what's wrong. Was there any "aha!" moment for you? Anything stand out that helped you fix it?

Mine always worked, but it took me ages to understand it! The Message Alerts application can do several different things with alerts. I use it on my 8700 simply because the built-in SMS and Email alerts sounded only one time when I got a message. Now, when I get a message, it will beep once politely, then it will repeat every minute in case I missed it. And a pop-up screen says I got a message, not a tiny icon. It has no effect on the BB's built-in profiles, so I had to set the original alert to "none", otherwise they both will sound when a message comes in. There are tons of settings to set, but once it is set up, you can stop thinking about it!
