Hopefully someone in here might have a suggestion.

On of our offshoot companies, a small 10 man construction firm, is having some problems with work order management and employee deployment. Of course, they figured the solution was to go out and buy some blackberrys, and then they realized, 'Oh, we need to make these work...'

Of course, I get the call.

Here is the situation. They have, currently, minimal technology infrastructure, but the realty company I manage the backbone for has a sufficient infrastructure to host any solution we need. We do not, however, have the time to develop, in house, a software solution for the problem, so I need a in-box solution that I can deploy.

They wish to use the blackberrys as a project management solution, including routing work orders to their individual field crews via the blackberry. Part of this solution involves sending the work order to the blackberry, having it acknowledged by the field crew, and a report sent back as to the completion time at the jobsite. They wish to be able to use it to track the productivity of their employee's, including arrival times, time on job, and completion times.

I'm interested in all solutions, but, as they are a smaller company, I'm looking for a best cost solution primarily, but known solutions regardless of cost will also help me in presenting options to the President.

Any suggestions?
