Okay, after spending a whole evening on this and having Mel send me a good OTA link I give up on the colors. Yes, I see all of the LED colors in the menu but when I assign them I only get red, blue, green, and purple. the white, yellow and cyan do not play on my device. Now I am using the 8320. Are other 8320 users getting these colors on their device. I was able to get them on my 8700, but not my 8320.
Really frustrating, but not a deal breaker. I still love the program.

Also, cannot seem to make custom colors and have them play on the device. I guess that is because I have no idea how to actually make the custome color

I'm "fairly certain" that custom colours is tied in with the registration. As mentioned earlier, I know I lost my custom colours when I lost my reg info in an OS upgrade, and I had to re-enter the colours after re-entering the key.

I'm "somewhat certain" that not all colours in the upper menu worked except for a few in the unregistered version.

I wish I could say for sure, but it was a few months ago.

Anyways... one custom colour to try is orange (R:255, G:25, B:0)

Klotar:

Thanks so much for trying to assist me. The manafacturer got in touch with me and worked thru all of my problems. He picked out what I was doing wrong. For all of you newbies, when you run LED color scheme test, it only runs thru the basic colors. I was looking for it to cycle thru all of the colors like white yellow, etc. He had me actually assign white to an email notification. When I sent myself an email the color showed up.

As always there has always been excellent customer support with this program.

Klotar: I am going to try this custom orange. Does anyone else have settings fpr pther custom colors. Your actual value setings for the custom colors will be greatly appreciated

White, yellow, and cyan all work on my 8320. They don't during the LED test, but I set them for missed calls and then called myself and they do work.

LED timing is off on a few models, setting the LED to priority mode and having larger intervals should make it more consistent.

Thanks for the feedback.
hi, how does one get a new reg code for a new device? I sent an email to you but it got bounced back :(

Default having issue - 10-30-2007, 06:13 PM

Mel,

I had this software on old BB and LOVED it. Just loaded on 8830 and can see where I set up ring in profiles. that works fine.

However, I cannot get into BB alerts icon (I can see it, but it doesn't react to choosing it) to set Alerts options (I'd like to change the repeat, for example, from every minute to every 9 minutes). Same with LED notice, but that's not as important to me as audible notifications. Am I in the right place?

I think I downloaded version 1.4 whatever handango was selling on 10/30/07.

Thanks. Your software is worth every penny. LOVE it.

Mel,

Somehow today, my BB is letting me into the BB Alerts screen , so you don't need to reply to my last note.

Thanks,
Roberta

I've been using it the past day or so and the different color LEDs are a big help so I just ordered a copy. Thank you very much, BByMel!

Ok...just got my Verizon Pearl, and wanted to download this program since I had it on my 7130 and loved it. I download Pearl Alerts, extracted and then used the desktop manager to install...but it won't let me do it for some reason. Can I get this on the Verizon Pearl? Is there an OTA way to do it or something? Thanks in advance!

I believe the Verizon Pearl has OS 4.3? I am not sure if BBAlerts is working yet on the 4.3 platform.

Yes..it is 4.3. Are you the programmer? If not..do you know if I can email or how to email to see if this will be available soon. And again...if you are the programmer, is there a way to be notified when it is available? Thanks!

I would be interested in knowing if this works for 4.3 as well. I have been using it with all my other BlackBerry models and love it!

The first time i clicked on the icon on my device it does not run but when i tried to reboot my device, to my surprise, IT WORKS!! now i just need to play with it more and see if it is 100% working. I tried to have a missed call just now and see if it will remind me, so far it works.

anyone else having problems with the new verizon pearl?
its a 8130 with v4.3
i used this OTA link
http://bbymel.servebbs.com/14/BlackBerryAlerts.jad
i bought the program and downloaded and installed ok.....everthing seems to be working except the repeat frequency only seems to work on 3min.....will not remind on the 1min or the 9min......and on the 3min interval it only reminds once and then stops?
other than that seems to work fine.....but this is a pretty important issue
i need it to keep reminding me until i look at it - not just remind once and then stop? it would slao be nice to use a intervals
anyone got any ideas?
thanks
scott

after trying all the ota links i could find and spending a couple of days with the program i think i got it figured it out....i think most of my problem was that i didnt realize that ANYTHING you do to turn on the screen stops bbalerts.....i thought it continued to remind until the message was read or the call log was opened....so i think i got a handle on it now...i am using v1.41...should i be using v1.5 for the pearl?...only thing left for me to make this program perfect is - i would like the ability to make the led blink at idle (like previous disscussion about the idle orange light).
any ideas when we will have this ability?
.....thank you
scott

just in case some one needs this info - these are the ota links i found
v1.41 http://bbymel.servebbs.com/14/BlackBerryAlerts.jad
v1.49 http://bbymel.servebbs.com/sms/BlackBerryAlerts.jad
v1.5 http://bbymel.servebbs.com/pearl/BlackBerryAlerts.jad

Default Download fails - 11-15-2007, 09:26 AM

I'm unable to do an OTA from any of the links to my 8130. I get a failure on every attempt. How are you guys getting this thing to download to your BB. I've used BB Alerts for years on all be BB's and might have to go back to an old unit to keep the feature if I can't figure this one out

I used this link. I basically emailed it to myself, and clicked on it. I downloaded it and when it was done, I pulled the battery for a few the presto. No problems at all. Not sure what else to say. Here ya go...

Which of these is best for the Curve? I'm actually running 1.4 (not even 1.41). Does it make any difference? 1.4 is working fine but am I missing out on functionality? 1.60 locked it up like a drum.

If I remember correctly, 1.6 will lock up after you launch it as you need to manually adjust the permissions to allow the app to access the call logs. It did not prompt for it. At least I had to do this with my 8100 w/1.6.

But the functionality for all these versions, on a Curve, is presumably the same?

I can't comment on the Curve, but 1.6 I believe introduced notification for BB Messenger. All pretty much the same though.

Default Latest versions, release notes - 11-16-2007, 07:32 AM

I'm running BBAlerts 1.4 on AT&T 8800, but thinking I should upgrade to a newer version (1.41? 1.6?). Is this smart? Are there release notes/known bugs list available for each version?

Does the v1.6 now start automatically like v1.49 does?
I'm getting a new 8310 today (have been using the 8820) and am wondering if the v1.6 is ready to use on the new 8310.

Is it as stable as the v1.49?

I'm trying to find an OTA link for the Pearl 8100. Does anyone know where I can find that? So far the ones on this thread that I've tried haven't worked.
