A few weeks after installing Berry Buzz I found my BB not making any sounds when emails were delivered or when calendar reminders were being shown (did not get a chance to test calls). Not reminder sounds but the actual initial notifications!

I tried changing profiles several times and checked settings. No change. The LED would flash but that was it. It took an ALT/SHIFT/DEL reboot to bring the sound back.

I can not say with certainty that Berry Buzz caused this. Are there other known causes of this problem?

I've been using BB Alerts version 1.4 for a while now, as all I use it for is the LED notification. I don't use the other features, like filtering, logging etc.

Been working great, and I've not upgraded because (in this case) if it ain't broke don't fix it!

My question is, does anyone know if the latest version (1.65) works with Instant Messaging (BB Messenger and Yahoo Messenger), Facebook, Twitterberry, etc? If so, time to upgrade for me...

Presently, NO 3rd party application can control the LED for BB Messenger, Facebook, Twitterberry, Yahoo, etc.

BB Alerts, and all other LED notification applications, can only work on native core BB applications (mail, sms, calendar, phone, PIN, etc.). And PIN messaging is not the same as BB Messenger messaging.

Also, it added a second SMS listener for the people having issues with other applications taking control of the first listener and thus now allowing SMS LED notifications.

I was wondering what the listener was for... My SMS now works after a little hiatus Thanks!

SMS now works again for me as well - it died shortly after I installed the official YouMail bb client but this new version of BB Alerts took care of it. Sweet!

Default new device-want to reinstall BBAlerts - 04-17-2009, 10:47 AM

Love this program. Old device broke down and got new curve. My activation code for BBAlerts is tied to the old PIN. Do oi have to buy this again? Anyone know who to contact? Thanks.

Ask whoever you bought it from for a new key.

I used this in the past but found that the interface did not work well on the storm. I saw you had a new release and wanted to try again.

The issue I have is that when in the BB Alerts setup screen the keyboard will not minimize and there is little screen to work with.

Additionally and more importantly, clicking the screen does not match up with the options in the setup. This only occurs in the application. It is very difficult to select any option since where you click is not where the program recognizes it. The only work around I know of is guessing where the application will respond correctly and that is difficult.

For example, if I click on Options, then try to click on Alert Repeat Frequency, it actually opens the Audio Type option. It is not as easy as just moving my thumb down. It actually almost appears to be stuck on the Audio Type option.

Is any of this known and is there a work around?

A good solution is read through the thread. If you go into your options and then applications menu and find BBAlerts and select it, press menu and choose "Disable compatibility mode", it will work perfect.

If you looked just ONE post above yours, you would find it.

I tried to click the tab but it just went straight to downloading.
I cancelled it out because I wasn't sure if it was suppose to do that.

I tried downloading the file but I can't open it.

You have to use the BlackBerry browser to download it. Yes, that is a direct download link... not sure what else you would be asking for.

And asad117, your posts should probably go elsewhere and not in this thread. Not that I am a moderator but they don't have anything to do with BB Alerts.

Thumbs up TXTLater - an SMS Scheduler and Email Scheduler for the BlackBerry users - 07-03-2009, 09:46 AM

Hi All,

DbyDx Software has launched TXTLater - an SMS Scheduler and Email Scheduler for the BlackBerry users. The good news is that TXTLater is now available on Blackberry App World.

It's advanced SMS Scheduler and Email Scheduler allows you to set your messages as per pre-build recurrence(s) in the application.

You can schedule to send your messages once a day, everyday, once a week, once a month, and once a year too.

Now you can just Compose, Set, and Forget. TXTLater will do it all for you.

Thanks and Regards
TXTLater Team

Anyone know where I can get version 1.65 OTA. I installed 1.75 on my 8130 os 4.5.0.160 and when I have an alert, I have to pull out the BB, open the mail, roll the ball up and down some and even then it sometimes won't quit alerting me. Ver 1.65 all I had to do was touch the volume and it would stop alerting.
