Default Upgrade after purchase

In general, if you purchase software from Handago and get a code and later on there is an upgrade from the developer, can you upgrade and put the code back in?

Wirelessly posted (8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I think I remember another user having issues with this. Search around for that thread (could be another provider though).

That's one advantage of codes since you can just download the "trial" version of the update and punch in your code and it would most likely work.

Disadvantage would be if you get a new handheld you may need to repurchase a your code would not be valid for the new unit.

when I upgraded to my pearl, handango was kind enough to generate a new key for a solitaire app originally purchased for my 7100. I was afraid they would make me re-purchase.

It depends on the product. If it has a static registration code then you can get the latest version from Handango and use the code you got when you bought it. If it has a code that is specific to your PIN/IMEI number than you probably need to write to the company that developed it and ask them to generate a new registration code based on your new PIN/IMEI number.
