Default Google Maps

When I try installing Google Maps on my Blackberry 7290 I get the following error:

200: Application can not accept the content [text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor]

I am also using BES 4.1. Our IT Admin policy does not allow downloading of third party apps. Could this be the problem? If so, is it possible to only allow "approved" third party apps to be downloaded and run on our handhelds while continuing to restrict all others?

Thanks.

Yes that would be the reason. I would suggest speaking with the BES admin. Is the BB your own personal or company issued? If it's your own personal BB they should allow you to install Google Maps.

I am the BES admin.

I set the IT policy to allow third party apps and Google Maps installs and runs now.

Now that third party apps are permitted is it possible to restrict the set of applications that are permitted?

Thanks.
