Default Why do IM applications run so poorly on Blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

I have tried yahoo and verichat on about every Blackberry and the problem is after a few minutes or hours they stop working. They don't quit or give an error they just stop sending and receiving messages or take minutes to receive a message etc. I am on tmobile and BES.

The applications run much better on a Treo.

I haven't had any experience with the RIM released chat clients however for apps like YakOn and Ramble (as well as every other app that requires a internet connection) I've found that as long as you have the correct APN settings in place they'll all run just fine.

does Yak-On use data?

I'm finding WebMessenger keeps on disconnecting and doesn't show msn contact names just their email addresses? i.e. instead of “Lee” it will show [email address]

Been using IM+ for more than a year now, works perfectly; plus, updates are free whenever they make them after you purchase it once, so that's great. I also use RIM's Google Talk and Yahoo, they both work perfectly.
