I have tried yahoo and verichat on about every Blackberry and the problem is after a few minutes or hours they stop working. They don't quit or give an error they just stop sending and receiving messages or take minutes to receive a message etc. I am on tmobile and BES.

The applications run much better on a Treo.

what programs are you talking about? the yahoo im client from RIM works perfectly for me and on several devices!

I haven't had any experience with the RIM released chat clients however for apps like YakOn and Ramble (as well as every other app that requires a internet connection) I've found that as long as you have the correct APN settings in place they'll all run just fine.

Yahoo Messenger made by RIM works awesome for me.

ramble IM works great on my 8700g, and i like it b/c it uses internet ,not texting, b/c i have unlimited data, and no free texting. so perfect world for me.

I agree with this one. I have been using it now for 9 months.

Been using IM+ for more than a year now, works perfectly; plus, updates are free whenever they make them after you purchase it once, so that's great. I also use RIM's Google Talk and Yahoo, they both work perfectly.
