Cool MagicMail, great piece of software

Please Login to Remove!

I just discovered MagicMail as discussed on BBHub(MagicMail software stores message templates, saves keystrokes - BBHub)
this is a great piece of software. With it you can create email templates. I keep having to send messages with people, often with the same opening paragraph. Now, I've typed it once, named it as a template in MagicMail and the next time I need to use it, select it from the drop down menu and I'm off to the races.

From What I have seen a great product so far and easy to use, however some sort of documentation would be helpful.

Question- I took advantage of the discount at MobiHand who listed the version as 1.1, but my Setting indicate version 1.21, Handango list the option to update to Version 1.3, what is included in this version? Will MobiHand offer the same?

Appreciate it your saving my thumbs on my Pearl!

Why not just do the same thing with AutoText?

Auto text will probably do, but any limitations? It is not easy to memorize the auto text names...

What is the difference between magicmail and quickresponse? They do the same thing, but is it one better than the other?

MagicMail for instance allows for a very simple 1-click template creation from an existing e-mail...Also, a new version of MagicMail will be released soon, which will have some very innovative features. Also, we are planning to release a bundle of MagicMail and SecretMail.
Happy new year everyone!

Thanks John. How do you use New From Email function? When I am at the email, and go to Magic Email, New From Email, it gives me an empty template.

I am using mobylo quickresponse, but haven't tried magicmail. The latest version of quickresponse allows me to create templates or import them from any mails i receive. Then I can insert these templates into my mails.

But the best feature which they introduced recently is a kind of mailmerge facility, where you can put some tags in the template and when inserting the template it will ask me to fill all those tags. Otherwise I would have to run through the mail and put all the names or prices in correct places.

Hell, I once forgot to edit template at one place and sent it to a prospect. Woldn't have created a great impression I bet.

By the way, John, since you are not responding to my questions. You probably need to really fix your software before selling here. It shows version of 0.0. What version is that in your book??

For all other users, you definitely want to take a look at this QuickResponse:

QuickResponse VX, an email add-on.

Pengrus,
sorry for the delay. New version of MagicMail, 1.5, was released on Handango, but it will take a while for Handango to propagate the changes.
MagicMail 1.5 finally features tagging - no need to spend time searching for the right template - you just assign it a nice little tag

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

I purchassed Magic Mail the other day through Handango and can not seem to get it working. I created a few templates but I can only access them if I am compossing a new message. The program crashes when I try to reply to a message with a error of : "Uncaught exception: java.lang.ClassCastException"

I have installed and deleted the program twice but it doesnt seem to help.

I am using a 8703e on Verizon.

I installed it, and removed it. I do not feel it is a mature product. After I removed it, it crashed my bb desktop.

I am using QuickResponse now, and I couldn't be happier.

Pengrus,
I know you like quickresponse, but please stop bashing MagicMail . You say it crashed your bb desktop - well, you are the first user who reported this . And did you get the newest version? I don't think so...And our customers think the version 1.5 is quite mature and like the new concept of tagging.
Have a nice day

John
Why would I give it a second chance? You don't even offer a documentation. All I know is it did not do what it advertised to do with a version 0.0, now this 1.5. What is tagging?

This will be my last post in this thread. Good luck in promoting your software.

Guys, Lets not turn this into a flame war. We must understand that all software are not created equal and there is a place of all of them.

Also, from what I gather pengrus is an existing customer of MagicMail - he once asked how use some feature - and given that it was a commercial product, no trial, I assume he must have bought the product. And we generally tend to expect much more from a purchased product.

A request to all third party developers:
Please, Please, Please provide a "fully functional" trial version of your software. It will really help if people try out before buying - At least they will not publically proclaim that your software does not work as advertised.
