Question Can you recommend SMS template software?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone have a strong opinion about any software that creates one-click messages for SMS? For example, you reply to an SMS by clicking "I will be there in 10 minutes." from list. Just click and send.

Anyone have any good experiences to report?

P.S. I know autotext can do this but I am having trouble remembering all of the various entries I have created.

Thanks!

Now when you say this I really realize how much more needs to be done on blackberry. Even my $100 Nokia phone had sms templates 5 years back.

You jump too soon. He was talking about SMS not e-mail.

Arrow QuickResponse VX now has SMS, PIN and Email.

secretguy, QuickResponse VX has SMS, PIN and Email capabilities. You would want to check out this particular this post on that thread -

QuickResponse VX, an email add-on.

Although, it is scheduled to be included in the next release alongwith other enhancements. But if you are really curious, you may ask the support for a sneak into the pre-release version.

Thanks.

I don't see what the big fuss is all about. After all, what is wrong with using the Custom Auto Text feature that comes with all Blackberries? If you use that particular phrase often, jusdt go into the options and create a Auto Text like "SMS1" which would the be replaced by whatever you desire.

I use it to insert a selective signature and frequently typed in response. Works quick and easy.

I dont understand why people will pay for a feature like this

I can speak to this. First, i have a Pearl so its input system is different than all of the other BB models. I have assigned some autotext entries. They need to be obscure combinations that don't generate a common word with the SureType keyboard. For example, I have "lll" (L's) assigned to "Call me on my cell when you have a chance." It's tough to assign memorable labels. I can only remember about four of them (maybe I just have a bad memory).

I do have an idea that I am going to try though. It's actually similar to what you said. I am going to do things like "Call1" and "Home1" ... it takes two keystrokes to add numbers on the Pearl so it may work and not cause SureType conflicts. However, I still have to remember the trigger word.

A simple example of where it could get sticky with a lot of text templates... I want to send "Call home now." Errr, was that "Home1" or "Call1" ?

One of the programs I used in the past was pretty good, I hit a key and a list of responses popped up which I could pick from. I was able to have about 20 responses ready. I am trying out this Quickresponse program now.

A lot of these software add-ons aren't always necessary but they make certain tasks easier. It just depends on your needs. If you only need a few auto-responses and/or can keep a set of trigger words in your head, you're set. If not, these things might help.

I've tried two similar software. QuickResponse works the best with email and SMS. You can't go wrong with them.
