Just want to share the Weather Channel icons I made.

The 28x28 one is the best fit when using it in the vertical part of the L theme (32x32 is too big since the icons are more scrunched in this area).

The 32x32 one looks good anywhere else.

Default A couple more icons - 08-30-2008, 03:46 PM

Here are a couple more icons.

- Mapquest Mobile shortcut7.png
- EverNote Mobile shortcut8.png
- Kwiry Mobile kwiry_icon.png
- Netvibes (3rd version... best yet) netvibes3.png

Any idea why they have part of the BlackberryForums logo over them when included here?

I went to download the the newest Northcubed web shortcuts so that I could setup the XML file and it seems that the domain expired for northcubed. Does anyone have it somewhere else where I could download it?

Thanks

I heard that the latest Plazmic beta has options to add more than one web link on the home page.

Wonder whether this (these?) apps will still be necessary once themes start rolling out with multiple linking apps.

Probably, as tweaking settings on these shortcuts is possible on the device and end users won't be stuck with the option of (1) asking the theme developer to make specific versions just for them or (2) learning Plazmic and getting .thm files from developers.

I'm having the same problem. Does anyone have an alternate download site? I found the earlier two versions on Jonathan Fisher's blog, but I can't find this version.

I saw in an earlier post notes about pointing to local images on the SD card as opposed to the default, but have had no luck doing this. Anyone know if it's possible with version 2.1.2 (running on 8830 w/OS 4.5.0.77) and if so, how I can do it? OP Stated to put 'shortcuts' folder on root of SD card and point to it as the F drive, but I'm stumped.

If it's not possible, maybe this could be a feature req

Either way, nice app and thanks.

Here's what I did. It works well, however ever time I reset my phone I have to download the icons again. I find the icons on the internet and download them to my computer. I use Irfanview to resize them if they need resized. I then upload them to photobucket, I tried flickr but it didn't work. Now I put the url of the icon into the webshortcuts app. Make sure the name of the icon is Exact, it's case sensitive, at least it was for me.

Hope this helps.

As Always...

Happy Berrying!

Anyone able to get the icons to work on a Bold? For some reason, these aren't loading anymore.

Bold 9000 Version 4.6.0.190 breaks the shortcut. If you click it, nothing happens. But if I open up the "Browser" icon the page has loaded. Is worked fine with .185 and earlier, just broken in .190

Any ideas?

Jeff

This happens when you launch a shortcut with the browser already on a page.

When the browser loads blank, try opening the menu and then hitting the back key. You should see the page then.

Dirn, I think what he's saying is, on the BOLD, it doesn't work properly or doesn't work like it used to.

I didn't try this software until last week, on my Bold running OS 4.6.0.190. Because I hadn't tried the shortcuts on any OS prior to .190, I simply thought it was broken. I would set up the link to the site and to the icon in the hub, then launch the shortcut and... NOTHING, NADA, ZIP.

I had then meant to delete it but never got around to it, when I saw bluelite's post above. I decided to look at the browser and there was my page that I made the shortcut to.

From what I gathered before downloading the shortcuts, is that I would click on the shortcut and it would open the browser and take you to the desired page. When it didn't do that, I just thought it was either busted or not compatible with the Bold. Now I see it's just not compatible with my OS version, so I'll hold on to this application and see if it works the next time I switch OS's.

Yes, exactly what I meant. It works with .185, not with .190, and I just tried beta .210 and it still doesn't work. Any ideas?
