Question, as a newbie BB user, was a "Q" until it went down 3x in less than a month. I was looking at the BBmaps how do I know if it will work with my 8830?

Anyone have the ota for BB Task Pro? I am having too much trouble with my desktop manager to even think about going that way. I am a newbie to Blackberry so please be gentle...lol.

BBTask Pro is a commercial product (i.e. not free).
Go to this page, and they'll email you and OTA link for a trial version. |

Try it and see. You can always remove it if not. Ii have an 8700c on ATT and it's not supposed to work but works great with a GPS pod via BT.

Thanks for the advice but I've been there and done what was requested, but my browser (on BB) still says Download Failed. When I select more info I get the message: 907 Invalid COD Unable to import ZIP file. Does any one know what I need to do? I feel like such a dunce bc I am sure it is simply some setting I have wrong....

Google maps is updated to 2.0.0 today with added location finding. (uses cell towers to get close to your location in lieu of GPS hardware)
Jivetalk 1.0.1 preview download now points you towards the 1.0.3 version for OTA download.
And there is a 1.7 development version of MidpSSH that is working quite well. =)
One I'd like to add is the previous version of mapquest navigator that was available for free on the Sprint BBs. I have loaded the 8703e version on my T-mo 8320 and it works perfect, quite a nice product for a free voice prompted navigation. Unfortunately they have removed the OTA link for this software, so I have extracted the 8703e files from my 8320 and hosted them at rapidshare so people could load it through the desktop at least if they'd like to give it a shot.

There's the link for it, if there's demand to get the 7130 version, which works on the 8100 series, I do have it installed on a work 7130 and could extract it from there. But I'd have to see some people ask for it to go retrieve it. |

Great find Steve! I just downloaded it to my Pearl, and it's just what I've been looking for since BBWeather went down the tubes.
I love the customizable alerts for almost any situation, although I don't need a volcano alert or tidal wave alert. And having the icon itself show the temp is genius, though I don't need the other one. I just hid it.
