Just though I mention that here.

I am working on a game for the Blackberry, and the first 6 levels are available for download. Its a platformer, something that doesn't seem to be made very often on the BBs.

The game is in color, and need a screen of at least 240x148 to work. No I will not bother with b/w versions of it.

The game has some problem with the double buffering, but I know just how to fix it. The problem I have is the controls... I've made a config tool for the controls, but even with it, its weird.

And also, for some unknown reason, the framerate is not constant. This shows at the end of the 1st level.

Any comment is appreciated. PM me if you want the game, the posting guidelines prevent me from posting a link...

Has anyone try this? I am afraid to download it because it might mess up my Blackberry considering he is new here and this is his first post.

Indeed, I won't blame you for that. But if you check my web page (xxistcenturyboysoft.com) you'll see that its not my first game. In fact the "Platformer" is Being A Duck, one of the most popular game for the Danger Sidekick.

For the record, it work in most simulator, and in the Pearl I bought to try it. The double bufffering of the device is very flaky though, and there is not really any high resolution multimedia timer, so sometime the framrate is non-consistant. Add to that that I didn't activate a plan on the phone, so really I am not sure if the ALX thing works.

But the .cod works. The game is in beta, so it might have a few bug, but it shouldn't harm any devices.

Edit : I just saw the chart in your signature. I knew I saw you somewhere... I remember arguing with you about that chart on hofo. Nothing against the BB, but you might wanna add that the RIM JDE sucks in that list ;)

After seeing that this is the only post about my game, I've decided to abandon deving on the BB. I'll leave the bundle online for anyone who want to try it, but that will be the last version I release.

secrecyguy, about your comparaison chart, hopefully you understand why the Sidekick has a catalog now and why Danger QA every apps that comes out...
