Could it just be a menu item in the options like Autolock? >Options >Advanced Options >Reset Device >"Are you sure?" Click "Yes." or something like that....

Question from a non-Pearl user... Does the reset sequence from the keyboard (i.e., ALT + CAP + DEL [all three keys together] twice) that works fro the 8703e and others not work for the Pearl?

Nope. The Pearl doesn't have a keyboard combination to force a reset.

I was installed on 7105t. But, it's don't work.
Although i knows software run on 8100 only, but I try, try, retry it on my 7105t.
Thank for best soft. If next version, SoftReset support for 7105t, i think very great!
1 + 1 = 2 - Is it correct?

Alan, thank you for the wonderful software .. I would like to also confirm that it works for the Verizon 8830 World Edition. You may want to update the requirements so that the rest of the 8830 World will give this app a spin. Thanks again! .. This is wonderful!

Yes, it will work on the 8830. However, on full keyboard models you can hit alt + right shift + del and get a reboot.

how come the reboot time for this program takes almost twice as long to get back to the home screen then pulling the battery? can this be fixed in a new version release?

This application works off of the reboot prompt given upon installation of an application. This app actually installs a small application that asks for a reboot. When you install any new application it always takes a little longer to reboot the device. It's normal.

yea but the way this this program does it is different compared to other resets. this one brings that 1 of 5 reminders to reset the phone. there are other programs that when they are installed they give a different restart message and it seems like the way this program is made that it takes the longest to restart. Also if i do a battery pull its about half the time to reboot then when using this program, the only advantage is that i dont have to take the batt cover off and actually pull the batt. cant this program be sped up?

Ill tell ya....this is one of my biggest phone pet peeves. Before my 8130 i owned a treo and with a PDA you may have the occasional freeze up,and pulling the battery is a pain in the butt. But this app. is a huge time and life saver.....great job man.

Quick question: I dl this program and I love it. However is this the same as taking the battery out for 30 seconds and rebooting? The reason I ask I did the mass storage cleanup that John Clark walked us through and I went back to the default ATT theme and the Push To Talk icon was still showing on the menu. (I know its gone, I tried clicking on it and the an alert came up saying the .cod files couldnt be located) I havent tried pulling the battery just because its a pain, but I would just like to know for future reference.

No - soft reset is not the same thing as pulling the battery. In most cases it is "close enough," however, in some cases a battery pull may be required.

No applications can be stored on the media card, so it will be stored in main memory. Yes, you will download the application using your device by browsing out to the URL given. You also have the option of downloading the alx/cod file and using the Desktop Manager to install the program.

Would you be able to put in a scheduler so it can be made to automatically reboot late at night on a regular basis?

What does reset actually do? I'm still not clear about how the BB uses flash vs RAM and that kinda stuff...like how do I know how many apps are running in the background?

you can check to see how many apps are in the background by pressing alt+the back key at the sametime and continue to hold just alt and you use the back key or the track ball to navagate.

Ahh, it appears that there are certain apps that need to run, like phone, home screen, messages, etc., how do I get rid of PTT? I don't use that and don't want it running. Thanks.

What is the code module that needs to be deleted? I accidentally clicked "restart later" because of the annoying delay when I click on "reset", and now I can't remember what software module to delete.
Thanks.
Black 8100 with BSE and cheap clear plastic case. Total cost of protection $10 - functional and looks great.
