Default Available excel, word, pdf viewer other than Dnyoplex eOffice?

Please Login to Remove!

HELP!

I have a Pearl and want to save attachments to my SD card:

1) Somebody sends me an email with an attachment. Is there any way on my handheld to save this attachment to my micro SD card without saving the email? If so, how do I go back and open it later?

2) I have some excel, word and a pdf documents that I would frequently like to reference on my handheld. I can transfer them from my computer via desktop manager to the SD card, but how can I view them? The media files application only gives me the choice of opening music, pictures, ringtones and video. If I compose an email, it gives me the option of attaching the files. Otherwise, they don't show up on the system. The only way I can seemingly open these attachments is to email them to myself. This is retarded.

Is there a third party application that I can download that will allow me to manage and view word, excel and pdf attachments? I tried Dynoplex eFile, but it won't allow me to open the documents unless I purchase eOffice. Despite the fact that they are charging more than I paid for the Pearl itself ($120 - $200), I tried a trial version and it doesn't navigate properly with the Pearl trackball (seems like it is written for the trackwheel).

I like the native Blackberry Excel viewer better (used when opening attachments on Email).

Maybe I'm missing something, but this is a HUGE disadvantage of the Pearl over other smartphones. HOW CAN I MANAGE WORD, EXCEL AND PDF ATTACHMENTS?????

Please help!

A lot of us want to do this, but so far there is no solution to save office docs other than Dynoplex. And Dynoplex does not save to your device, it saves to their server.

Default Try Repligo

Repligo lets you download the document to your device and view it at any time. Not sure how it works with the SD card, but works great on the 8700

Actually, if you go to DynoPlex,Inc. is a leading developer of wireless document management solutions for handheld devices and enterprise grade productivity applications for RIM Blackberry. from your Pearl, you will be able to download a Pearl optimized version. You probably are using the older version of eOffice that was not optimized for Pearl.

Yes you can save the documents directly to your device, however we do not support the SD card yet. The version for it is about to be released.

Thanks for the correction. I look forward to the new version. will you announce it here? Will previous purchasers of eOffice have access to this upgrade?

What is the latest release date for eOffice software to save to the microSD? I am considering either the 8100 or the 8800, but still trying to figure the right software that I need for the BB that I use on my Treo 650. Attachment management is a big one for me.

eOffice version 4 is out and it does support SD card now. It also includes imporved attachment handling and a new document viewer ViewAll. Upgrades are free for registered users. We also do not charge subscription any more, everything is a one time fee.

I have downloaded and installed the Dynoplex ViewAll however when I try to open pdf files from my SD card, it begins to open to around 10% or so, and then fails. Any help is appreciated.

sdeforke,

How is eoffice working for you? I am also considering the program, but have heard mixed things about the speed of the server and font size. It is nice to see that the company follows this board and seems very responsive to user issues.

Well, I did not install eOffice, only the ViewAll application, ota, and I am not trying to read any server side documents, only local files from my sd card.

I just installed the latest trial that supports SD. My main objective is to simply be able to store PDFs, XLSs etc locally and read them as necessary. Unfortunately the ViewAll application failed to open a simple PDF "Cannot Open Document". On the bright side, the suite does seem quite well designed and no longer requires offline storage nor annual subscriptions. If it gets tweaked so it actually works I'll buy it.

Guys, please contact me at [email address] with attachment opening issues. All the PDFs should be working ok, I've been testing the new version for several months. We'll sort this out.
