Default Need Yahoo Go source files....

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to get Yahoo Go approved by my BES Admin. Does anyone know how I can obtain the ALX and COD files for this without downloading OTA. I need the Pearl version.

You can do this on your own, but since I had it already set up I did the start of the process for you; basically you put your Firefox into blackberry emulation mode and browse the download site. See nokia symbian user agents & phone masquerading rivviepop phantom for the basic setup.

Here's the JAD file which kicks off the rest of the downloads -- you need to scrape each and every MIDlet-Jar-URL and RIM-COD-URL from this jad to get a full working download set that you could host on your own server.

My corporate IT wouldn't allow 3rd party application download. Is there a way to upload yahoo go 2.0 on my Blackberry 8700c by downloading these files on a desktop and then load through the desktop manager or app loader? If so, what step do I need to take?

What you'll need to do is take that JAD file and convert it into an ALX file (.alx is a text XML document, no special tools needed to edit). Search around on the forums here, there's several threads about writing an ALX from a JAD to do desktop installs.

I'm afraid I go the other way (converting ALX -> JAD for OTA), as I don't use the Desktop Manager regularly - being a non-Windows user.
