Berry411 needs a new name-- suggestions? -
01-31-2007, 05:15 PM
Berry411 is going to be promoted as a part of the RIM ISV alliance, which is a great thing, but as a part of that I need to find a new name for the application-- RIM as you know is aggressively protecting anything related to "black" and "berrry".
I've been playing with a few ideas but welcome your suggestions about a new name that steers clear of anyone else's trademark. Thanks for your help.

That's too bad. Berry411 is a great name. I'll try and think of some.

since no "berry" and "black," use the word bb instead like BB411.

Bb -

My only concern about BB is distinctiveness: there are other BB apps (BBSpell) and confusion will result about who makes what.

Bogle411? -
01-31-2007, 08:31 PM
Just because it hasn't been suggested, I might say Bogle411, since there's a WM5 version by that name available over at WebIS. I don't necessarily think that's the best option, but the name is already out there on a small scale.

Essential411 -
01-31-2007, 09:42 PM
Since many of us consider this to be the third party application we find the most useful, I would like that to be conveyed in the title.
Essential411
Vital411
Or maybe it should reflect the multiple possiblities of use such as:
multi-search411
Whatever you choose for a name, it is a great application.

How can RIM stop someone from using Berry? Berry and Blackberry are two different words.
Anyways, an idea: LOOK IT UP 411

Information to the power of Infinity!!

Can't do an infinity symbol superscript in the quick reply box. The program is the most used program on our BB by a lot of us.
Again Thanks Phil.

Thanks for all the great (and funny) suggestions.
Very hard to pick, but I think I'll go with juwaack68's suggestion of "Beyond411" (or B411 for short) due to the similarity to Berry411.
