| OperaMini 3.1 Please Login to Remove! Hey, TMo users and Bb owners
OperaMini 3.1 and TMo customers who use Bb can now go to my.t-mobile.com and view their account with no issue!
Bb internet browser however, is still unable to visit thw site.
Major inprovement on the small but dececptivly powerful bowser.
As I should have in the first place, I need to describe what else there is.
First off, 3.1 runs more tests to better suit the correct connection tpye. 11 tests to be on the dot. Other than how the settings changed, as in no ability for me to change prottcal, the layout is the same.
However, site viewing is stronger than 3.0. As described above, when trying to access the website, it gave your phone is not supported. When I found that 3.1 came out, I got curious and went again and to my surprise, the website I visit at the library on a PC is the same on my Bb.
There are still some bugs to note. Such as connection timeouts occur a lot, but not to annoy.
I want to compare to the mobile version, but the mini seems to handle scripting better than before and a lot of improvments are noticable. More security, are able to send pictures, and a lot of things I didn't get to see in time. In any case, this browser seems to use the HTML coding better and build it in to a web site faster and without compatiblity trouble I've experenced so far and takes less memory.
The app is worth loading and all Bb users should be Advanced (MIDP2) compatible which if some read the posts, is the high memory. So try it.

| Is there an easy way to check for new versions/releases of Mini? When you hit the download URLs (from the BB browser) it always just says "3.0" or "3.1" instead of "3.0.6636" or whatnot. Is there a secret URL or trick for checking in that y'all know about? | | Offline

| I used the zip and installed thru desktop manager.
It updated opera to 3.1 and my bookmarks, apn and personal settings are intact. No need for me to reload everything with ota, as ota deletes old version, FYI

Never knew that until you posted. Learn something everyday. Except apn settings are for mini not the Bb right?

| That explains things for me. I originally installed via desktop back when opera was beta and everything worked fine without explicit apn settings (tmobile). Then I did an ota upgrade and broke my access. I added the apn settings, but i sill could not reach some regular http sites.
Today I nuked 3.0 with the desktop and then installed 3.1 via desktop and now I seem to be good to go again. (without needing any apn setting)

| Ok, I did an OTA install of Opera Mini on my 8703e. My BB bookmarks are not there. Is there a way I can import them over to Opera Mini?
Thanks,

| No There isn't a way I know of. What I can suggest, cut, copy, and paste. Just go to your BB bookmarks and edit bookmarks and copy your url. Switch to opera while the app is running, by this pressing and holding alt and click the esc button, go to bookmarks and press the manage option and go to add. In the text box that asks for your url, and paste. That work?

| TMo and Data crunch **UPDATE**
As I read about those without data plans from TMo but have TMo web or total internet and use OM on their Blackberrys now find that they are getting cut.
John explained that few had success doing this. Not anymore. TMo will refuse third party apps to be used without the data plan for Blackberrys. So now the idea of not paying more is not possible.
So, in short, this is nothing new. But port blocking is increasing. Mark Rejhon, I read the thread on ports but, this is brand new devolopment, you might want to check it out. So, from what I heard, those using Blackberrys and TMo Web will expect trouble using OM soon.
This link will give more info http://my.opera.com/community/forums....dml?id=179324
It gives a load of info. Some may know that already, but, John some of those who have had success, won't be happy much longer.
