Question Removing address book integration in B411?

Please Login to Remove!

Address book integration adds a Berry411 menu item to the address book that allows you get driving directions and reverse lookups directly from a contact.

Itxxx8217;s cool, but involves some Blackberry OS fu that seems to have compatibility issues with some phones. It also forces the app to load on startup, which some folks donxxx8217;t like.

Before I make this change, I wanted to get input from anyone who feels this is a must-have feature.

I am constantly using B411, and I personally don't find that I'm using this feature ever. It's certainly a great app, and if this removal would only make it better, then I say go for it.

I have used your application since it came out and have never used this feature. B411 is one of the best BB apps available! Thank you for your efforts.

Is there a way to make it optional? I use it, but I'm sure there are others that don't. I did vote on your blog, so hopefully you won't have to read 4000 replies to get your answer.

But, keeping it all in perspective, even without it, I'd still use Berrry411 often, and it is a incredibly useful program which you provide for free. Bottom line, if you chose to remove it, I'd have absolutely no issue with your decision. I appreciate your contribution to the user community.

I wouldn't miss it if it was removed.

Optional would be cool, but I admit to rarely ever using that feature.

Phil, I voted on your blog but will comment here that I've used it, but not so much that I can remember when I used last. I don't think I would miss it. The ability to add an entry to contacts from berry411, though, I've used that a bunch. I hope that is a different matter entirely and won't go away.

Default My opinion

Phil,

I don't use the map from an address book entry feature all that often and could live without it (since I also have Telenav on my 8800). The feature I would really hate to lose is the ability to set an address book location as my search point for Berry 411. This is a feature I routinely use.

I ditto the others, I've used it a time or two but not all that often. We know you'll figure something out so no worries here.

Right, adding items to the address book from Berry411 won't go away.
