Anybody using this software on the Pearl (4.2.0.64)?

Purchased this software more than a week ago. Tried it for a week before that.

Application 'about' says version 2.53 but the 'settings' 'advance options' says version 2.61.

I have problems when the 'screen saver' feature is enabled. Otherwise the software works.

Eventually after a day (or much sooner) of using the Pearl the following starts to happen when the 'screen saver' feature is enabled.

I start getting "USB_Error! java.io.IOException Illegal channel". Doesn't matter which application I am in. I think this is the Photos software running in the background with the 'screen saver' enabled displaying the error. When this starts happening I then disable the 'screen saver', then the 'slide show' stops working. Also when I try to display a picture in the gallery, it shows the same picture no matter what other picture is selected. (I guess by this time the address space of the software is corrupted).

I have reloaded the software several times and done hard resets and the same thing happens.

However, after a hard reset and reload of the software and reload of the pictures, and the 'screen saver' feature is "disabled", the software behaves well.

I have reported this problem with Ascendo even when I was trying the software but it seems that they could not reproduce it. I still purchased it even with this problem because the rest of the features seem to work fine and I am hoping this problem goes away with their version 3.

Is anybody else having this problem with this software on the Pearl?

Im having the exact same problem. Have you had any luck? Im using an 8800.

Ascendo was not able to fix this for me. So I just disabled the 'screen saver' option.
I was given an update to version 3 for free because I asked for it before I bought the 2.+ version.
With version 3 the 'screen saver' works. One thing that doesn't work with version 3.+ is the 'zoom' feature when viewing the picture but was told that it will be fixed.
One feature that I would like is for Ascendo Photos to support storing and viewing pictures from the SD card but I am not sure whether they will support this in the future.
