Default Fontis - free RSS reader - I like it!

Please Login to Remove!

edit:
tried to find it, I guess they changed it to "FreeRange".

under downloads/freenews

Not sure if you saw this, but from the main Blackberry Wap website, you can download this program. It's nice!

Hey thanks for this!

Freerange is the first free rss reader that has worked (connected) for me on my Telus 7130e.

FreeNews and NewsClip are not free -- FreeNews is $20 after a 7 day trial and NewsClip is a subscription based service. The name FreeNews is completely misleading, there's nothing Free about it.

This program is great except for some bugs I've encountered. When searching for feeds, sometimes I get a message "null unable to connect" or something like that with the word null. Then it'll take me to a blank screen and there is no way out of that. I would have to reset my pearl in order to close and restart the reader. Other than this big, this program is pretty neat.

FYI, NewsGator is releasing an RSS reader for BlackBerry called NewsGator Go! today. It offers full synchronization between read state, clippings, etc with a free online account at Newsgator DOT com. Also synchs with FeedDemon, Outlook plug-in, etc.

I'm about to re-try NewsCopier again, they went from 1.0.2 to 1.1.0 so it's worth another look; I like PicoNews, but it has issues. A lot of the time I get old or duplicate articles, and sometimes they don't get newer ones -- something in their server is just not right.

NewsCopier:
NewsCopier :: NewsCopier for BlackBerry :: Overview

I tried sending emails to the PicoNews people but haven't ever heard anything back, it seems like they've just left it to die or something. :(

Just installed newsgator go! Trying out the trial right now. So far everything seems identical to Fontis except for the syncing part and the price tag. Great program though. I think newsgator is a bit more stable.

Fontis was the code name for our product, which is now released as FreeRange WebReader . You can download it OTA from http://mwap.at and read more about it at http://www.freerangeinc.com
