BELL 7250 BBWeather not working -
09-10-2005, 10:41 AM
I've been reading through every post and have NOT found a solution so please forgive me if it is out there...
I have a BELL 7250 with the latest OS and simply cannot get BBWeather to work. I got the usual IPPP missing error (I have IPPP for BES? but do not run BES), disabled the Proxy Setting, and now I get the BAD DNS error. As per some suggetions I selected UPDATE NOW and continue to get BAD DNS errors.
Can someone PLEASE help us (by us I'm refering to the countless other posts that seem to be having the same problems) by posting a fix for this? Is is there a fix? Is this program just not written well, do we have to go into the source and supply a different gateway?
Hey developers, what's up?
THANKS!

Ok, I have tried to install bblight via "OverTheAir" directly and the install fails. So I downloaded the zip file, extracted the files and used my Desktop Manager and pointed it toward the .alx file, but that also failed to finish. I'm using a 7510 with v3.7.2.15 (Platform 12.0.32) and the exchange server version 3. Has anyone else had success with this?

Disable the MDS Proxy in the software's options and disable the firewall.

Which Model of BB is the software made for? -
09-22-2005, 12:57 PM
It's great to find opensource software for the BB but I did not see any mentioned about which model this software was made for. I have a 7100g and was wondering if it will work with mine?

Tried to install bbWeather, but was told that the "modules could not be loaded because their digital signatures were invalid". Can any one help me out? I'm new to the whole BB world, and still trying to find my way around the little guy.

Mark BBLIGHT is buggy on a 7520 -
09-27-2005, 03:42 PM
Mark I'm assuming this is your app and forgive me if i'm wrong. The Nextel 7520 doesn't function correctly on external power with your BBLight software. The light comes on when you initially plug in external power but goes back out again after the predefined setting in options. I'm running 4.0 and yes I've activated BBlight as all other functions (on activity and on unholstering) work like a champ. In discussions with other blackberry owners with different models this isn't a problem. Maybe they aren't understanding what it is that isn't working though who knows.

I had a similar problem. I would spend 5-15 mins each day looking for the folder where the messages might be. I finally gave up and uninstalled.

My BBToday Problem:
Whenever I click "Enter" key on any of the BBToday sub-sections, e.g., Enter key on the new messages. Then it jump out to my home screen, and it hangs for at least 10 seconds. Then after the combination of randomly rolling/clicking the wheels and pressing escape key. And finally I got into some random application.
Has anybody experienced this before or is it just me? I find it kinda annoying not being able to check what the new messages/calender/task/calls when pressing enter keys on the respective fields? Not to mention BBtoday hangs at the homepage after doing that and causes some frustration.

I would like to add the feature within the weather application to gather the Metric Temperatures. BBWeather has that option but I love BBToday as it is all on 1 screen.
I'm from Montreal so I managed to find the location ID but there is no option in BBToday to specify Standard or Metric Temperature readings.
Thanks,

Some enhancment whishes I would have:
- proxy authentication support (either by saving the credentials or passing the prompt to the user)
- Possibility for lookup of Location ID, either via internal function or external small tool
-to keep data traffic low I would like to be able to increase the refresh interval higher than possible now.
- additional different look (with less details) for the forecast...similar to bbtodaz
- different languagesupport (I could help you with some languages if needed)
Again thanks for the work

I'm having that same problem now, after upgrading to 4.02 OS... Any help out there?
BBWeather and weather on BBToday worked smooth until the upgrade.

Nevermind, I finally fixed it. I had not set my WAP gateway correctly for one thing.
I live BBWeather and BBToday--great apps. I was about to head out of town to Maine on a 4 day trip and really really wanted to keep up with just how CRAPPY the weather would be during my stay.

BBToday Kicks booty, but... -
10-12-2005, 07:15 PM
I don't know the history on BB Today, and if it's dev. is still around playing with it, but a 2 very humble suggestions which I would love is...
1. If the clock option, was in the title bar of the app when it's running. I think almost everyone would want that always to show, and it would free up some screen space for the other options.
2. If there was a way to get BB Today to become the Standby Screen, and/or the Handheld is Locked screen.
Just thoughts I thought I would throw out there in case able programing fingers are out there. Anyway, kudos and thanks for the great apps!

How would one go about deleting these programs? I cannot figure it out through the app loader or from the handheld? I have a 7750. Thanks for your responses.
