How do I get BB Weather to work on the 8100 / 8300 / 8800?
From BlackBerryFAQ
Here is what you need to do in order to get BBWeather working on the 8100 / 8800: (this is only need at 1st start and will work fine after)

1. Click on BBWeather to open the application

2. You will get error that says: no weather profiles

3. Click on the trackball and select ok. do not click on the menu button

4. Click the trackball again and it will bring you to the menu

5. Select Options and add a weather profile [the location ID is your zip code]

6. If you are on BIS make sure you check the box to 'disable MDS

My menu says this:
Current Profiles:
a blue bar that says *Empty*
then
Current conditions Poll Interval (mins): 30
Forecast Poll Interval (mins): 120
[empty check box] Disable MDS Proxy: Cadetblue
High Temp Color: Darkred
Low Temp Color: Darkcyan

So now what???
Now it seems if I click the menu key, what I need comes up...
I got it to say Tacoma in the blue bar, but now when I click on it, it say's:
Error: Invalid url parameter.

Ok... I'll figure this out on my own then. Like I had said, I went through 12 pages, and that takes time and didn't find my specifics...

There's a RIM BIS outage tonight but I don't think it affects TCP data.

Jack, did you check the "disable MDS Proxy" box?

Yes I did and it didn't make any difference.
Without checking the box, it would say:
Error: Invalid url parameter.

With the box checked it would say:
Error: Open tunnel - failure

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

Jack, check the box and leave it checked.

Then go to options ]advanced options >tcp and make sure the apn is correct.
Apn:wap.voicestream.com
Everything else blank. I'm betting your apn is misspelled. If not, give it some time and try it again. Also make sure you have a valid zipcode in the location id field and city name in the city field. It works. Sometimes TMo's apn can be intermittent.

And check the box to disable mds proxy. Then you might try rebooting the BB. It'll work eventually with those settings. You have a data plan, right?

I would skip the BBCorrector. OS 4.5 has spell check built in. It's not out yet but it will be soon. I've not used BBCorrector in a long time and don't know what servers are still operational for using it.
