Unhappy Problem configuring Opera Mini - 03-19-2007, 11:28 AM

Hi,

Well I'm new to the world of BlackBerries. I've bought a unlocked 7230 on eBay and put my own SIM in it (KPN Netherlands). So I haven't got BES.

Well I read that Opera Mini uses direct TCP acces so I configured my APN and installed Opera. Opera goes through 11 steps but on step 6 or something it gives me an error saying the firewall inside and outside connections blocked by IT policy.

After some googling I figured I had to remove the IT policy. I found policy.bin, followed these steps www blackberryforums com/general-blackberry-discussion/67224-remove-policy.html (sorry I can't post URLs yet).
Then I used JavaLoader.exe to wipe my system, I downloaded Cingular OS version 4.0.2 and deleted Vendors.xml. Then I ran AppLoader and loaded the whole OS.

But still I keep getting the frustrating error when I try to start Opera. I heard some people got this to work so it must be possible. But how?

Stangely enough I can't turn off the firewall, the option disable just isn't there...

Btw, when I load the Cingular version I still get the T-mobile splash, theme and screensaver although I have deleted Vendors.xml Maybe this got something to do with it?
